Enchanted actress Amy Adams was spotted yesterday in Los Angeles with her daughter, Aviana Olea Le Gallo. The pair were heading to a movie studio, where Amy’s about to start filming a new Superman.

They’re both adorable!

Russell Crowe has signed on to play Jor-El, Superman’s father – in ‘Man of Steel’, the reboot helmed by Zack Snyder!

The cast for Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot film, “Man of Steel,” got even deeper and more accomplished on Wednesday, as Oscar winner Russell Crowe is set to join the star-studded epic, Variety reports.

Crowe would play Jor-El, Superman’s biological father from Krypton. In the Christopher Reeve-starring movies, Jor-El, played by Marlon Brando, appears in the crystals in Superman’s arctic hideaway, though there’s plenty of other options for both birth scenes and flashbacks.

Snyder emphasized the ability to move away from those films in a March interview with the Los Angeles Times.

“Literally, the one thing that everyone can start to think about is that we’re making a movie that finally goes with the approach that there’s been no other Superman movies,” Snyder told the paper. “If you look at ‘Batman Begins,’ there’s that structure: there’s the canon that we know about and respect, but on other hand there’s this approach that pre-supposes that there haven’t been any other movies. In every aspect of design and of story, the whole thing is very much from that perspective of ‘Respect the canon but don’t be a slave to the movies.’”

Crowe will join Kevin Costner, who plays Clark Kent’s earth-bound dad, as fathers to the eventual Superman, to be played by “Immortals” star Henry Cavill. Diane Lane will play Ma Kent, while Amy Adams is perfectly cast as Lois Lane.

On the evil side of things, “Boardwalk Empire” star Michael Shannon will take on the role of General Zod.

Deadline.com is reporting that Amy Adams has passed on the opportunity of starring as a journalist who sleeps with rock star Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise) in ‘Rock of Ages’. Like Anne Hathaway before her, Adams had a scheduling conflict.

Adams will be busy with the new Superman movie, ‘Man of Steel’ in which she’s playing Lois Lane.

‘Rock of Ages’ will open June 1, 2012.

Warner Brothers announced on Sunday that the highly-anticipated Superman reboot will be titled ‘Man of Steel’, and that a villain has been cast! Michael Shannon (brilliant in ‘Boardwalk Empire’) will star as the evil General Zod.

While Zod has a number of story lines, he was the fascist head of the military on Krypton, Superman’s home planet. He was portrayed by Terrence Stamp in the first and second Christopher Reeves Superman films, acting as the main villain in the second film.

“Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role,” the film’s director, Zack Snyder, said in a statement.

Shannon, star of “Boardwalk Empire” and an Academy Award nominee for his turn in “Revolutionary Road,” joins an already star-studded cast in Snyder’s film reboot of the beloved comic book. Amy Adams was recently cast as Lois Lane, while Diane Lane and Kevin Costner will play Martha and Pa Kent.

Snyder spoke about his vision for the film in March, giving a just a few hints to the Los Angeles Times.
