Lily Allen has reportedly delayed the release of her upcoming album in fear of a chart showdown with Katy Perry.
Perry is dominating the international charts with her track I Kissed A Girl – and her success has allegedly left Allen worried about her new LP Stuck On The Naughty Step.
The album was originally slated for release later this month but will now be out next year reports British newspaper The Sun.
Meanwhile it has emerged Perry’s boyfriend Travis McCoy once had a crush on chart rival Allen.
The Gym Class Heroes star has been dating Perry since June but just last year he admitted a crush on the Smile hitmaker.
He said, “Lily Allen. I met her before very briefly. She’s cute. Yeah. . . I’d like to see her again.”

Brendan Fraser’s turn in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor failed to shake The Dark Knight off the top spot in this week’s box office figures.
It was a third week at number one for the Batman movie, whose £4 million-plus takings were far above The Mummy’s £2.9 million takings.
In third place was the film version of the Mamma Mia! Musical which took £2.7 million, while animated summer smash Wall-E was fourth on £1.4 million.
There were new entries at numbers five and six thanks to teen dance movie Make It Happen and Bollywood’s Singh is King. The X Files, which was at four last week, slumped to tenth place.
It is the Dark Knight which continues to be successful, however, having already passed milestones like the $300 million faster than any film in history.
The Batman Begins sequel stars Christian Bale as the eponymous hero and Heath Ledger as The Joker. His performance is leading many to predict an unprecedented posthumous Oscar win, following his death from a drug overdose earlier this year.

40 Year Old Virgin star Shelley Malil was arrested Monday after allegedly stabbed a woman over 20 times, TMZ.com reports.
The victim, Kendra Beebe, was the actor’s ex-girlfriend. Beebe, 35, is the mother of two kids.
The incident occurred outside of Beebe’s home in the San Diego area. Her children were home at the time of the attack, which was witnessed by neighbors who helped stop bleeding from her wounds.
The 43-year-old actor – who played Haziz in 40 Year Old Virgin – was arrested Monday night at a train station. He has been booked at the San Diego County Detention Center.
Beebe is currently hospitalized but reportedly expected to survive.
“Her chin was almost entirely cut off,” neighbor Charleton Lee told KNSD. “She had a huge gash in her arm that looked like a really deep wound that was bleeding profusely.”
Malil has also appeared in Scrubs, Seinfeld and NYPD Blue.

In the upcoming drama Milk (out in December), James Franco kisses Sean Penn.
Penn plays Harvey Milk, the country’s first openly gay elected official, a San Francisco city supervisor who was assassinated in 1978. Franco plays Scott Smith, one of his boyfriends.
“It wasn’t twelve hours, but it certainly felt like it,” Franco tells September’s GQ of the lip-lock. “The first kiss of the movie was out on Haight Street, with, like, 200 people watching, outside.
“It was a crane shot — I’m sure in the end it will be a really cool shot, but it starts close and then it takes maybe a minute,” he says. “That’s a long time on film with everybody watching and, like, a fake mustache getting in your mouth.”
Referring to Penn’s character in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Franco jokes the kiss “was long enough that you couldn’t help thinking, ‘Oh, my God, I’m kissing Spicoli.’”

With buzz surrounding his comedic turn in “Tropic Thunder,” Tom Cruise is eyeing an even bigger humorous role.
The A-lister is loosely attached to “Food Fight,” a warmhearted comedy about a snooty New York chef who is forced to cook meals at a school cafeteria, with Cruise playing the role of the chef. The project is set up at Universal-based Working Title.
Veteran scribe Adam Brooks, who most recently wrote and directed the divorce dramedy “Definitely, Maybe,” is attached to write the screenplay. “Drillbit Taylor” helmer Steven Brill had been in talks to direct “Food Fight,” but they came to naught; a search for a new director is under way.
“Food Fight” would mark a departure for Cruise, who has made few comedies since his breakout role in 1983′s “Risky business“: His last such lead role was in 1996′s dramedy “Jerry Maguire.”
In “Tropic Thunder,” Cruise plays an overweight, over-the-top studio exec in what advance word has billed as a movie-stealing performance. Cruise has had other bit comedy parts over the years in films like “Austin Powers: Goldmember.”
The “Food Fight” attachment apparently is still loose for the star, who has several projects in development as an actor and producer.
Cruise next stars in United Artists’ historical action film “Valkyrie,” in which he plays a very noncomedic role: Klaus von Stauffenberg, the Nazi commander who plotted to kill Hitler.
