Ryan Phillippe was spotted out and about with a new mystery girlfriend in West Hollywood yesterday.
The ‘Lincoln Lawyer’ actor (or ex-Mr.Witherspoon as I call him), 37, had lunch with a new girl at Hugo’s.
Ryan’s gal pal wore all black, from head-to-toe, and looked happy to be hanging out with The Bang-Bang Club star, whose exes include Reese Witherspoon, (who he has two kids, Ava and Deacon, with) Abbie Cornish and Amanda Seyfried.
Hilary Duff tweeted this picture of herself last night, with the message “Happy holidays from the three of us!!” Hilary’s sister Haylie painted the image on her pregnant belly.
Older sibling Haylie added: ‘Evening spent painting my seester (sic) @HilaryDuff ‘s belly and hanging with my brother in law… Can’t wait to meet my nephew. #HurryUp&GetHere’
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are getting very serious! The couple sent out a joint holiday Christmas card this year.
The couple, who have been dating since May, are typically low-key. But this holiday season, the two weren’t afraid to send a joint message to their family and friends.
The red card reads: “We wish you and your family a holiday season full of happiness and joy,” and informs the recipient that “a donation has been made in your name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Best Friends Animal Society,” according to Lainey Gossip, which obtained a photo of the card.
Below the text, Aniston, 42, and Theroux, 40, signed the card: “With warmth and love, Jen and Justin.”
The quiet couple have recently been spotted enjoying dinner together in L.A. at Santa Monica’s Marix Tex Mex restaurant, though they went their separate ways after the meal.
Aniston and Theroux initially met on the set of “Wanderlust,” and have since been shooting down marriage and pregnancy rumors.
“I’ve been married once, and I don’t know if I’ll get married again,” she told Hello! magazine in October. “But I can tell you that as of this moment, I have no plan to get married. Got that?”
The long-awaited next entry into the “Alien” canon, with original series creator Ridley Scott back on board, hits theaters next summer. To tease the series’ rabid fan base, 20th Century Fox has put out this first look at the film, which blasts into the late 21st century and explores the alien race that so horrified Sigourney Weaver and company in the original films.
“Alien,” released in 1979 to massive commercial and critical success, spawned three sequels (as well as “Alien vs. Predator” spinoffs), the last of which came in 1992. Incidentally, that mess of a film was directed by David Fincher, who helms this week’s new flick “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.” A further connection: Fincher’s “Dragon Tattoo” film is a remake of the Swedish version, which starred Noomi Rapace, one of the leads in “Prometheus.”
Rapace plays Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, scientist and explorer, while Michael Fassbender plays an android named David. Charlize Theron, as corporate suit Meredith Vickers; Idris Elba, as Captain Janek; Guy Pearce as Stannison; and Logan Marshall-Green, as Holloway, Rapace’s love interest, round out the cast.
Speaking to Collider this summer, co-writer Damon Lindelof spoke about how the film went from a direct prequel to “Alien” to a more original story.
“I think Ridley really wanted to move the movie into more original territory. The idea of a prequel, leading up to the original movies, as opposed to thematically being about something else, but also giving the opportunity to introduce new characters into the movie, was a big deal,” he told the site. “Obviously, in order to get an amazing cast, including an Oscar winner (Charlize Theron), it really had to be driven by the people. So, although the ideas of the movie are very big, we wanted to set it and make it feel like it was an alien in that same universe. Ridley hasn’t directed a science fiction film in 25 years, so now that he’s coming back and doing one last heist, as it were, the bar was very, very high.”
Blair Witch Project star Heather Donahue could have continued to pursue her acting career after the 1999 cult classic film catapulted her into the spotlight, but instead she chose an alternative lifestyle of becoming a marijuana grower.
After being prescribed the green to treat PMS (really?!), she gave up on being a struggling actress in Hollywood for a new occupation.
Donahue, nearly 37, writes of an unexpected career change in her new book Growgirl: How My Life After The Blair Witch Project Went to Pot, out Jan. 5.
“I took all my stuff into the desert related to my acting career and burned it all,” she told the Philadelphia Inquirer. Everything except the iconic blue cap worn in Blair Witch.
“That’s the only thing I kept. I figured if things got really bad, I could always sell it on eBay,” she joked.
Once her friend was arrested, Heather gave up on her project to focus on writing a book about her experiences.
“I became a solitary country girl,” she explained.
“I think you’re going to see [medical marijuana] on a lot of ballots over the next few years,” she to the Philadelphia Inquirer. “There has been enough support for medical use if not outright legalization that I don’t think it will go away.”
