The founder of the Playboy empire has told NY Daily News that he’s considering becoming a father again - at age 80.

“I wouldn’t say that there’s a plan, but there has certainly been a conversation,” the centerfold sovereign said.

Hef’s personal life hit the spotlight with E!’s Playboy Mansion reality series “The Girls Next Door,” which will begin its third season on March 4.

The show depicts Hef living out his golden years with a harem of girlfriends - Kendra Wilkinson, Bridget Marquardt and queen bunny Holly Madison, who has spoken openly about wanting to conceive a baby with the titillation tycoon.

Hefner already has four children from two marriages, including 54-year-old Christie Hefner, who’s chairman and CEO of Playboy Enterprises.

“I think ‘probability’ is probably an overstatement,” he told us, “but ‘possibility’ is very real. It began as a wish, and now it’s becoming, I mean, on Holly’s part, it’s a more serious conversation.”

Even more shocking to some will be the fact that the man who boasted a seven-woman coterie as late as 2004 has found true love.

“This is the one,” he said of Madison. “It’s fascinating - I mean, with all the years and the romantic adventures and the marriages, etc. - to find something as special as this at this stage in my life is a miracle.”

Hefner got back in the dating game in 1998, when he separated from second wife Kimberley Conrad Hefner. “I came out of it emotionally beat up and bruised,” he told us - and a new trio of blonds was the perfect balm. Hugh’s rebound relationships included actress Brande Roderick and Chicago-bred twins Sandy and Mandy Bentley. “I was dating Sandy, Mandy and Brande,” he told us, “which is like bad fiction.”

The posse grew with rotating honeys, then Madison made her grand entrance.

“I cut back a little,” said Hefner. “I thinned the herd.”

It wasn’t long before Madison was his No. 1. “And the other girls recognize that,” he told us. “This is the one with the future. And this was not planned as a plot line - a variation on HBO’s [polygamy drama] ‘Big Love.’ This was a unique relationship, and then the television show came along. We’re just having a lot of fun with it, and life has never been better.”

Some of Marilyn Manson’s pals aren’t so happy about his rumored relationship with 19-year-old actress Evan Rachel Wood, PEOPLE reports in its new issue.

“It’s like he’s having a midlife crisis,” says a source close to Manson, 38, and estranged wife Dita Von Teese, 34. “He’s with a younger version of Dita.”

The friend points out that Wood, who was last seen in public with Manson at his birthday party on Jan. 5, “has her hair and makeup done like Dita.”

Meanwhile, there’s one sign that it’s getting serious between the pair: For his 38th birthday, Wood “gave him a live scorpion in a cage,” a source at the goth rocker’s party tells PEOPLE.

Von Teese filed for divorce from Manson on Dec. 29.

A rep for Wood would not confirm the romance with Manson. The rocker’s rep declined comment.

Okay, if that’s HIS excuse, then what’s HERS?

Lindsay Lohan has checked into rehab, she said in a statement Wednesday.

“I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health,” the star said in her statement. “I appreciate your well wishes and ask that you please respect my privacy at this time.”

A source close to the actress says: “Lindsay is in a very positive frame of mind and is looking forward to making a positive change in her life.”

In December, a rep for the 20-year-old actress told PEOPLE that her client was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Later that month, Lohan revealed that she had been in AA for a year, and said she generally feels better when she’s not drinking.

“I was going out too much and I knew that, and I have more to live for than that,” she said.

Prior to December, however, Lohan dismissed critics who said she was partying too often. In November, she told Oprah Winfrey that she is not a party girl, adding, “Is it a crime to go dancing with your friends?”

Over the summer, James G. Robinson, CEO of Morgan Creek Productions blasted the star for being absent from the set of her movie Georgia Rule and blamed her “heavy partying” for the behavior.

Lohan’s mother Dina quickly shot back, saying the media mogul was “way out of line.” Lohan was briefly hospitalized at the time for being “overheated and dehydrated,” according to her rep.

Okay guys, I’m still stuck in my house.  It didn’t snow anymore, but the roads were still a mess this morning - so school was cancelled again.  So I’m at home.  Posting has been slow yesterday and today…sorry!  I’ve been stuck doing other wonderful things like cleaning the bathroom and baking a DELICIOUS chocolate cake with Connor’s Easy Bake Oven (don’t ask).  I’ll keep posting…but instead of posting a little all day, they may be in a couple big groups of posts. 

At least I have American Idol to look forward to tonight.  Last night’s premiere was awesome!

Academy Award winner Gwyneth Paltrow has joined the cast of “Iron Man,” a Marvel Comics superhero movie starring Robert Downey Jr.

Downey plays the armor-clad title character and his alter ego, billionaire industrialist Tony Stark. Terrence Howard will play Stark’s best friend Rhodey.

Paltrow will play Stark’s personal assistant Virginia “Pepper” Potts, one of the few people in Stark’s life who can go toe-to-toe with him and who occasionally serves as his conscience. The pair also share a secret attraction to each other.

“Her representatives let us know that she wanted to do a movie like this,” said Kevin Feige, Marvel’s president of production. “A few phone calls later from all parties involved, and over the weekend it happened.”

Jon Favreau is directing the movie, which will be distributed by Paramount Pictures. Production is scheduled to begin in March in Los Angeles.

Paltrow, who won an Oscar for her work in “Shakespeare in Love,” most recently appeared in “Running With Scissors.”

Scottish actor Ewan McGregor is reportedly being lined up to play late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. Cobain’s widow Courtney Love has acquired the rights to Charles Cross’ celebrated biography on her late husband and McGregor - who has already played a punk star in glam rock movie Velvet Goldmine - is believed to be Love’s number-one choice to play the troubled singer.

An insider on the planned movie tells British newspaper Daily Express, “A number of actors have been talked about the role but Ewan has emerged as the number one choice.”

The project will be the first official film about the tragic rocker, who committed suicide in 1995, although moviemaker Gus Van Sant cast actor Michael Pitt as a Cobain lookalike in 2005 movie Last Days.
