TMZ has learned family members and professionals in Britney’s life are working as a team to get her mental help — either voluntarily or involuntarily — for treatment of what appears to be a severe bipolar disorder.

We’re told it’s going to happen one way or the other, and fast. So far, Britney refuses to commit herself voluntarily, but the team is persisting.

Sources say they are considering “a number of options,” some of which are “creative.”

The most extreme option — going to court and getting an order forcing Britney into in-patient treatment. That would be the last ditch effort.

If involuntary commitment is the only option, Brit must be picked up by cops — again — on a “5150,” meaning she’s a danger to herself or others. Then, while she’s in the hospital, health care professionals can go to the County Public Guardian, who can then go to court and ask for what’s called a “conservatorship.” The conservator would then basically assume control of Brit’s life.

If the judge grants the conservatorship, Brit could be involuntarily committed to a mental hospital. Again, that’s not the only option and various alternatives are being discussed right now.

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has been cited for numerous safety lapses relating to the overdose of anti-clotting drug heparin that was given to Dennis Quaid’s newborn twins last November.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the California Department of Public Health has released a 20-page report detailing the failed procedures that led to a total of three patients (including Zoe Grace and Thomas Boone Quaid) being given a nearly fatal 1,000 times the prescribed dosage of heparin.

“This violation involved multiple failures by the facility to adhere to established policies and procedures for safe medication use,” the state wrote in its report. “These violations caused, or were likely to cause, serious injury or death to the patients who received the wrong medication.”

The prestigious L.A. hospital could also be issued fines by the state.

In a written statement, Dr. Michael L. Langberg, Cedars-Sinai’s chief medical officer, said the state report confirmed the hospital’s own investigation into the incidents.

“While this is a rare event, we are pleased that the [public health department] shares our view that it is an important opportunity for the entire institution to explore any and all ways we can further improve medication safety,” Langberg said.

Among the hospital’s errors cited in the report: medical staff failed to check product labels before they dispensed heparin, did not keep proper records of the drug’s usage, and the hospital didn’t take steps to implement its own policies on high-risk medications.

The Quaid twins were released from the hospital in early December, after which Quaid and his wife Kimberly filed a lawsuit against Chicago-based Baxter Healthcare Corp., the maker of heparin. As of Wednesday, the Quaids have not sued Cedars-Sinai for its errors.

TMZ has learned the divorce between Pam Anderson and Rick Salomon is back on and Pam is pregnant!

You’ll recall Anderson filed for divorce last month, but called it off just days later. But sources tell TMZ she is now moving forward with the divorce, even though we know she’s pregnant with his baby.

Salomon has told friends he believes she is “acting crazy” because of the pregnancy and hopes she will settle back into the marriage. Interestingly in her divorce petition, Anderson asked for spousal support but not child support.

The couple were married in Las Vegas on October 6.

But, Trump - worth an estimated $2.9 Billion, is a big supporter of Britney Spears’ estranged husband, Kevin Federline, who once said Donald was his hero. “I used to say terrible things about Kevin, but I saw him being interviewed once and he said his all time hero was Donald Trump. That’s why he started wearing suits. So I actually think he is a fantastic guy and a wonderful husband.”

Britney was thrust into the spotlight in spectacular fashion last week, after she was hospitalized on Thursday night. The troubled singer was restrained and rushed to the Cedar’s Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, with cops suspecting she was under the influence of drugs.

The LA Police Department were called after Britney locked herself in the bathroom with youngest son Jayden James and refused to hand him over to ex-hubby Kevin Federline.

On Friday the singer was stripped of her rights to visit her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, who are living with Federline. The order will remain in place until another hearing when the custody battle continues on January 14th.

Katharine McPhee has joined fellow “American Idol” contestants Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard as former members of the Sony BMG family. The artist has parted ways with RCA after a solitary album, a 2007 self-titled affair that debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200.

A label source confirmed McPhee’s departure, which was first reported by Entertainment Weekly.

McPhee struggled to connect with a wide audience with her debut, which was led by the single “Over It.” That track topped out at No. 22 on Billboard’s Top 40 Mainstream chart and No. 29 on the Hot 100. The album has sold just 366,000 units in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

As McPhee told Billboard last year, she quickly realized the art of the compromise when it came to record the album, fresh off the road from the “American Idols Live” tour.

McPhee fell particularly in love with two tracks from producer Ryan Leslie, but then they wound up not making the cut. “I’m learning that’s the way it goes in this business,” she said. “You give and you take.”

In contrast to “Idol” stars like Bo Bice and Hicks, who had already spent years pursuing a music career, McPhee’s prior experience was limited to musical theater. Once in album-making mode, she also struggled with putting her own stamp on material that had been submitted by veteran songwriters.

“The demos, it’s so hard once you hear whoever is singing to get that out of your head, especially for me, being new to recording,” she said. Being able to craft songs with outside collaborators like Danja, Babyface and Kara DioGuardi generated “the memory of where we were when we were writing the song. There’s a kind of history behind it.”

John Mayer has reportedly split from his short-term girlfriend Minka Kelly.

The 30-year-old singer and the 27-year-old Friday Night Lights actress split over a month ago, but are “still friends,” sources have told People.com.

Despite the couple’s split, they’ve remained close, reports People - with Kelly showing support for the singer at his December concert in L.A. and accompaning him to the after-party at Parc where they got cozy in a booth together. The two were also spotted days later having breakfast in L.A. and also drinks in West Hollywood’s Sunset Marquis Hotel.

According to a pal of Kelly’s, “Minka told a couple friends that she and John had broken up but she really didn’t want to tell anyone.”

The couple hooked up earlier this fall, after being spotted dining together several times in Austin, Texas, in early October and again later that month in California. They also reportedly met up with Chris Ivery and Ellen Pompeo at a Knicks game in New York in November.

A rep for Mayer had no comment. Kelly’s rep couldn’t be reached for comment.
