Ben is the frontman of Death Cab for Cutie. Love them, love her! (Even if I don’t love the dress)

Lovin’ the ear muffs!
Check out her engagement ring! Go here to find out who Zooey recently got engaged to!

Zooey Deschanel is engaged to Ben Gibbard, the front man for Death Cab for Cutie, a source close to the couple tells Usmagazine.com.
Rumors that the Yes Man actress, 28, was getting married spread after In Touch falsely reported she was engaged to a different musician: Hunter Burgan, a bass guitarist for AFI.
Deschanel and Gibbard, 32, are “so thrilled,” the source tells Us. “Zooey was swept off her feet, and Ben is so excited.”

Yes Man actress Zooey Deschanel, 28, and musician Hunter Burgan are engaged! According to a source, Zooey said yes over the weekend of December 20. The couple has been together for nearly a year and a friend of the stars confides, “She is so excited.”

Speaking of Zooey, out of sheer boredom last week I re-watched Failure to Launch on TNT. I’d seen it in the theater, and I thought it sucked at that point. But when you’re bored and have nothing better to do, it’s actually not that bad of a movie. Sarah Jessica Parker is insanely annoying in FTL, but I thought Zooey did a really good job! She was cute in that movie.
UPDATE: Wrong musician!

Put “Hollywood” and “It Girl” in the same sentence and you probably think blonde bombshell with a few cheesy action flicks bulking up her resume, not actress who lives with her sister, plays in an indie rock band, and loves clothing from the ‘60s.
But that’s why NYLON put Zooey Deschanel on the cover of NYLON’s It Girl issue: She doesn’t even have to try to be cool, she just is.

Here are four more reasons why NYLON’s obsessed with Zooey:
1. Before she could even talk, Zooey was singing the words to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
2. She’s a vintage fiend with a penchant for big hair. “I’m secretly a country singer at heart,” Zooey explains.
3. She comes from a Hollywood family yet calls herself a “homebody” and stays away from the velvet rope scene in L.A.
4. Although she loves being in a band—“Now that I’ve experienced what it’s like to stand up there and sing my own songs, I just can’t imagine wanting to do anything else”—Zooey’s not ditching acting just yet; she’ll be making several appearances at a theater near you in the coming months.
