Zach Braff is to hang up his Scrubs and quit the TV medical comedy.
Show creator Bill Lawrence has confirmed the upcoming season of Scrubs will be Braff’s last.
And Lawrence hints that Braff’s final show could mark the end of the series: “The end of the show will be about J.D. (Braff’s character) leaving the hospital.”
But Lawrence also insists, “You can’t kill this show.”

Zach Braff and his girlfriend, actress Shiri Appleby, have called it quits, an insider tells Life & Style. The sexy Scrubs star, 32, simply isn’t ready to settle down, the insider says, adding, “Shiri and Zach were a great match. They both come from traditional Jewish backgrounds, but Shiri wanted to start a family and Zach shuddered at the thought of being tied down. He can’t imagine getting married before he’s 40.” Shiri, 29, “wasn’t interested in a casual relationship,” says the insider. “She knows what she wants, and Zach wasn’t ready to commit to that.”

Zach Braff was seen out and about with a new female friend, Shiri Appleby of Rosewell fame. How in the world does this guy get such good looking girls? He is funny… I do give him that.

Apparently Zach Braff’s reputation has been one of sleeze lately, or at least that’s how he feels the tabs are spinning his image. Recently he blogged about his public appeal on his myspace site:
“I’m not sure when or why the tabloid angle on me was decided that I am a cad. I would have much rather it had been that I am secretly a dentist or that I love soup. I am in fact, merely doing what every other single 32 year old man in NYC is doing this summer. I am dating. If you must read that stuff, please don’t digest it as fact.”
I don’t know how many of you are fans of his, or fans of the hit show “Scrubs”, but what do you think about him? Good guy or grease ball? I sort of wish Mandy Moore had been more vocal about their relationship only because they fell apart so suddenly and they always seemed to be a strong item.

The creator of “Scrubs” is writing and directing a prequel to the ’80s feature franchise “Fletch,” and if he has his way, the show’s star Zach Braff will take over Chevy Chase’s title role.
The Weinstein Co. has signed Bill Lawrence to adapt Gregory Mcdonald’s 1985 comic-mystery novel “Fletch Won,” which follows the irreverent detective from his early days as a ne’er-do-well junior newspaper reporter to his partnership with a crime reporter to solve a murder. Mcdonald’s best-sellers were brought to the screen in 1985’s “Fletch” and 1989’s “Fletch Lives.”
“Zach is perfect for the role,” Lawrence said in an interview from his Los Angeles office, where Braff sat laughing in the background. “I’m going to use all my pull trying to make him do it.”
Filming is expected to start in April once the current season of “Scrubs” completes filming. No cast members have been signed yet.
Braff helped bring Lawrence on board by suggesting his boss to Weinstein principal Harvey Weinstein, leading to talks between the pair over the past six months.
