Last night Will Ferrell dropped by Conan O’Brien’s talk show, in character as Ron Burgundy. He announced that Paramount Pictures has officially given the thumbs up to an ‘Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy’ sequel, the popular 2004 comedy.

He played a little flute, and made fun of Conan before making his announcement. “As of oh-nine-hundred hours Mountain Time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel for ‘Anchorman.’ It is official: There will be a sequel to ‘Anchorman.’”

It’s been rumored for years that an ‘Anchorman’ sequel was coming, and now we’re finally getting confirmation!

No word on the release date for the sequel, but Deadline reports that the movie will see Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner reprise their roles from the original. They also indicate that Judd Apatow will again produce and McKay will direct the film.

Ferrell’s decision to make his exclusive announcement on “Conan” is hardly surprising, as the “Casa de mi Padre” star has a long history with the talk show host. After appearing on some classic bits on O’Brien’s “Late Night,” Ferrell had the distinction of appearing as both the first and last guest on O’Brien’s “Tonight Show,” and even performed “Free Bird” to close out the show’s shortlived run. When O’Brien went to TBS, Ferrell personally shaved off Conan’s beard in a high-profile moment.

Colin Quinn took to his Twitter page this morning to ramble off a strange series of comments regarding Will Ferrell. He’s implying Will has a drug problem, right?

Beard shaving!!

Will Ferrell has something he wants to “correct” on Conan —Conan O’Brien’s face! During the “fan correction” segment on Conan’s show, Will said he wants to correct Conan’s beard by shaving it off.

“The error that I found is your beard,” Will said. “That thing’s a huge mistake. I’m gonna come there and fix it myself. Whether you like it or not, I’m gonna shave your beard. It’s coming off.”

Will is appearing on Conan on May 2 and is prepared to shave it off then.

“Circle the date on your calendar because I am circling your face like a vulture who eats hair,” he said. “I am serious. Beardly serious.”

The official trailer for Will Ferrell‘s upcoming movie, Everything Must Go, has just been released. The movie also stars CJ Wallace, son of slain rapper Notorious B.I.G., real name Christopher Wallace.

The movie follows a recovering alcoholic who relapses after losing his wife and job in the same day. He decides to sell all of his possessions, with the help of a neighborhood kid from down the street. The movie is set to be released on May 13.

Will Ferrell is joining ‘The Office’, but not permanently, unfortunately.

According to Gossip Cop, Will has signed on to do a four-episode arc on “The Office” to help smooth Steve Carell’s exit.

He will play a manager who comes to the Scranton branch and turns out to be just as inappropriate as Carell’s character.

Can’t wait!

“It’s ten years later and most of it is set in Europe,” Ben Stiller told Empire magazine. “I don’t want to give away too much, but it’s basically Derek and Hansel ten years later – though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime.”

“Will Ferrell is written into the script and he’s expressed interest in doing it,” says Stiller. As for Lady Gaga, the entertainer appears to be welcomed if there aren’t any conflicts of scheduling. Lady Gaga and Will Ferrell were two celebrities that have been mentioned in the mix of Zoolander 2, both of which are considered possible according to Stiller.

The studios will currently decide what step is next. The backing of production needs to happen before the filming will start. Since the process takes a while, don’t expect to see Zoolander 2 until at least fall of 2012.
