Whitney Houston’s wardrobe malfunction!

During Saturday night’s ‘X Factor’ performance, Whitney Houston was left red-faced after a strap at the back of her long silver dress snapped open midway through her performance of ‘Million Dollar Bill.’ She shrugged off the wardrobe malfunction though, joking to host Dermot O’Leary afterwards, “I sang myself out of my clothes.” Watch her performance:

What do you think?

I don’t think it’s terrible - but man, it does NOT sound like the Whitney we know and love! Her voice has changed so much! It’s kind of sad!

Whitney Houston previews new album

Mariah Carey

Whitney Houston’s much-anticipated new album, I Look to You, doesn’t hit stores until Sept. 1, but the singer gave a star-studded audience a sneak preview of nine songs on Tuesday night.

Diane Sawyer, Martha Stewart, Alicia Keys, Vivica A. Fox, and Oprah Winfrey’s best friend Gayle King sat front and center at the listening party Tuesday night, hosted by Houston’s longtime producer Clive Davis in New York City.

“It took us three-and-a-half years to reach this point,” an energetic Houston told the crowd, which also included her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, 16, mother Cissy, and cousin Dionne Warwick. When she spotted King, she told her, “Please tell Oprah I said hello.”

Among Houston’s new tunes are “Million Dollar Bill,” written by Keys and Swizz Beats, which Davis described as “a feel-good song.” (Keys stood up, danced, and recorded the scene while the song was playing.)

Davis also previewed two ballads reminiscent of Houston’s classic hits, one written by songwriting legend Diane Warren (”I Didn’t Know My Own Strength”) and one by R. Kelly, who also penned the beat-heavy “Salute.”

Houston also collaborated with Akon for “Like I Never Left,” which Davis said was the result of her request for “a great island song.” Afterward Davis said of Houston – whose last album was released in 2002 – “You realize how much we miss her.”

And that was obvious during the final track, a cover of the 1970’s classic, “A Song For You,” which Davis revealed had only been “completed rough last night.” Sawyer led the audience to their feet, and the dancing lasted as Houston took the stage.

In her brief remarks, Houston said her mother had told her, ” ‘I’m tired of the old songs on the radio. I’m tired of people taking off their clothes … I want to hear a beautiful lyric and a beautiful melody.’ And I just hope that what you heard tonight, that’s what you got.”

Whitney Houston back in form for CD launch

Whitney Houston

In London to unveil her new album at a VIP party Tuesday night, Whitney Houston – looking glam in a black and white Dolce & Gabbana gown – signaled she was back.

With her mentor, music mogul Clive Davis, playing nine tracks from her upcoming album to be released in September, Houston, 45, “looked radiant,” a source at the party at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel tells People.

“She gave an amazing speech saying how much the album comes from the heart and telling of her love for Clive Davis,” the source added. “She was also saying how much she loved being in London … and you could tell she was happy to be here.”

The CD will be Houston’s seventh studio album and represents a comeback after a seven-year hiatus that included some well-publicized troubles. As for the album, some of the songs were finished and others not, a source tells People.

Thanking Davis, Houston told party guests, “When Clive called me I was pretty ready to buy my island home [and retire], but he said, ‘No, you’re going to sing again, people want to hear you,’ ” reports Billboard.com.

She added, “I hope that these songs stay with you for a lifetime.” Davis assured the crowd that “you won’t forget it after you hear it.”

Among the tracks heard were the title song “I Look To You,” by R. Kelly, and an Alicia Keys song, “One Million Dollar Bill.” Also included was a Diane Warren-penned song, “I Don’t Know My Own Strength,” and a duet with Akon, “Like I Never Left.”

I love her music and I cannot wait until her new album comes out!

Whitney Houston Sued – by Her Stepmom!

whitney_houston_narrowweb__300x4400.jpg

Whitney Houston is being sued by her own stepmother.

According to the lawsuit, Barbara Houston claims the singer pocketed a $1-million life insurance payout from her late father’s estate, E! Online reports.

But, Barbara claims, $723,000 of that was supposed to go toward the mortgage on the New Jersey condo she shared with John Houston, who died in 2003. (Once the mortgage was paid off, the suit alleges, the rest of the cash would be given to the stepmother.)

Lawyers for both sides refused to comment on the pending suit, E! said.

Meanwhile, Whitney Houston continues to work on her comeback with music mogul Clive Davis.

Bobby Brown’s son says Whitney Houston was a poor stepmother

Whitney Houston

Bobby Brown’s son Landon has revealed his former stepmother, Whitney Houston, treated him like an employee when he went to stay with the former couple.

Landon Brown says Houston was a “nightmare” to grow up with, refusing to accept him as a member of her family.

He tells the National Enquirer that his former stepmom insisted he slept in a guest house when he came to stay - and refused to let him spend time with her daughter - his half-sister - Bobbi Kristina.

He says, “Whitney and I never really got along. She didn’t necessarily hate me, but she wouldn’t really speak to me either. In Whitney’s eyes, I was the stepchild.”

He adds, “She decided to turn me into one of her security personnel. I was a teenager but I was walking around dressed up in all black with a Security shirt and she’d have me work for her. I was just another one of her staff.”
