The cast of of the fifth installment of the Fast & the Furious series, Fast Five, take a break as they enjoy the sunshine in the beautiful Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Columbia Pictures hasn’t tired of “XXX,” particularly if it’s a Diesel-powered vehicle.

The studio is in discussions with producer Joe Roth for a new version of “XXX,” one that would bring back Vin Diesel as star and Rob Cohen as director.

The duo teamed on the 2002 original, which starred Diesel as Xander Cage, an extreme sports enthusiast who gets drafted by the government for a dangerous mission.

Roth controls the property because the original film was made by his Revolution Studios, which was also behind “XXX: State of the Union,” a sequel that starred Ice Cube and was directed by Lee Tamahori.

The third incarnation has a title, “XXX: The Return of Xander Cage,” but no script.

Diesel has agreed to return and so has Cohen, but talent deals won’t be worked out until the studio pact is made.

This would be the first pic for Roth at Col since Revolution folded.

Diesel had bowed out of an encore, but it is also believed that his salary quote had gotten too expensive for a modestly successful picture.

Diesel also bowed out of a starring role in the first sequel to “The Fast and the Furious” — “2 Fast 2 Furious” — opting for a cameo in that pic. He skipped the third pic, “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,” but will reteam with original co-star Paul Walker in the franchise’s fourth go-round, “Fast & Furious,” which Universal will release June 12.

The move to reinstate Diesel in his Gen X James Bond vehicle underscores the appetite of studios for potential tentpole franchises. Though Diesel didn’t score in the recently released “Babylon A.D.,” sources said other studios are waiting in the wings to make the sequel if Col doesn’t.

Cohen directed the summer sequel “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.”

As an action hero Vin Diesel spends his time chasing bad guys and dodging explosions – but in real life he’s just happy changing diapers.

The star of the upcoming Babylon A.D. – who welcomed his first child, a daughter, in April with girlfriend Paloma Jimenez – says fatherhood has given him a whole new perspective.

“Someone once told me that, when you have a child, it opens up parts of your heart that you never knew existed. And it is so true,” Diesel told Parade magazine. “It’s like you have a child and you think, ‘Everything that I’ve done up until this point is insignificant in comparison to being a father.’ It’s a beautiful, beautiful thing.”

And Diesel says he’s had plenty of parenting training – both on and off screen.

“I had a lot of practice growing up. I was the oldest of the children in my family. I had to do a lot of diaper-changing and lunch-making,” he says. “I was taking my little sister to ballet, picking up my brother, sort of being a super-nanny.”

Diesel then parlayed that experience into 2005′s The Pacifier, which had him costarring with tiny tots.

“Working with babies on the set for so long, it really started to bring out this desire to have a child,” he says. “And it took a couple years after that to find the right person and to hopefully be mature enough to be a great father – which is really all you want to do.”

Vin Diesel is so thrilled to be a first time dad, he wants to give his four-month-old daughter eleven siblings.

The action star’s girlfriend Paloma Jimenez gave birth to a baby girl – whose name is unknown – back in June. And Diesel loves being a dad.

He tells OK! magazine, “I want a half a dozen. What do you expect from me? I want 12 kids!”

The 41-year-old claims his role in kids movie The Pacifier kickstarted his paternal instincts, and he can’t shake them off: “That’s how the whole damn thing started. You work with those babies too long, and then I said, ‘It is time.’”

Vin Diesel has become a father for the first time at 40, it has been revealed.

His representative told People magazine that Diesel and his girlfriend Paloma Jimenez are the proud parents of a baby girl.

Their daughter was actually born on April 2nd, but the birth has only just been confirmed.
