Yes, it’s true…Vanilla Ice is getting his own reality TV show on the DIY Network, titled ‘The Vanilla Ice Project’. Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, will debut his new renovation show this Thursday at 9:00PM on the DIY Network.
“I’ve been flipping homes for about 10 years,” he says. “I enjoy it. I like to sit back and cross my arms and think, ‘Look at what I’ve accomplished,’” he told The Daily News.
Rapper Vanilla Ice won’t be prosecuted for allegedly beating his wife, court documents show.
“The State declines to file criminal charges,” a Palm Beach County, Fla. prosecutor wrote. “There is insufficient credible evidence … due to the victim recanting her original statement and lack of an independent witness.”
The rapper, real name Robert Van Winkle, 40, was arrested April 10 in Wellington, Fla., after his wife, Laura, told sheriffs that he allegedly “struck” and “kicked” her.
“It was just a verbal argument. He didn’t physically harm his wife,” Winkle’s attorney Bradford M. Cohen told People.
A restraining order against the musician has also been lifted.

Vanilla Ice has been released from jail but ordered by a Florida court to stay away from his wife following his arrest for domestic battery.
On Thursday, the star’s spouse Laura reportedly called police claiming her husband – real name Robert Van Winkle – was kicking and hitting her at their Palm Beach County, Florida home.
According to the arrest report, Laura Van Winkle appeared uninjured, but told cops she wanted a divorce from the star. But she is reported to have reneged on her earlier allegations, insisting her husband had not hit or kicked her, but had pushed her.
Van Winkle – who was arrested in 2004 over similar battery charges – appeared in court at Palm Beach County, where judge Nancy Perez told him he can only contact Laura by phone. Perez also ruled Van Winkle must only communicate with his children through a friend.
The ’90s hip-hop star was escorted by police from the court to his home, to allow him the chance to pick up a few belongings, reports TMZ.com.
