Pop star Nick Lachey will have to pluck up courage and propose to his girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo if he wants to spend his life with the TV presenter-turned-actress - because she’s too traditional to pop the question.

Insiders claim Minnillo is ready to become Lachey’s second wife, but she would never follow Hollywood trends and ask her man to wed her.

She says, “I know that a lot of girls nowadays are proposing to guys, but I think I’ll be old-fashioned. I’ll be old and grey before I propose.”

Vanessa Minnillo is going to star in her first movie called Redefining Love. “This is going to be a good one to get my feet wet with,” Vanessa tells In Touch. “I give the producers and writers credit for writing such a beautiful script and I hope I convey on film what they want — but I’m nervous!”

As for her personal life, Vanessa Minnillo is ready to be a blushing bride, but she’ll never pop the question to Nick Lachey. “I know that a lot of girls nowadays are proposing to guys, but I think I’ll be old-fashioned,” Vanessa, 27, told In Touch at the Reebok Freestyle World Tour event in New York on February 21. “I’ll wait until I have gray hair before I propose!” Despite her flippant remark, a friend of Vanessa’s says that she’s privately disappointed that Nick, 34, has not gotten down on bended knee yet. “She was really upset when she didn’t get a ring on Valentine’s Day,” her friend reveals to In Touch.

Vanessa Minnillo is now ready to launch her movie career. According to an industry insider, the former MTV VJ — who left TRL in April 2007 — is set to start filming a movie called Redefining Love. “She’s so excited!” an insider close to Vanessa, 27, tells In Touch. “Acting is a different way to entertain people,” Nick Lachey’s girlfriend says in the February issue of Vegas Magazine. “Most people know how to be themselves in front of the camera, but interpreting a character takes a lot. Once I get the role right, I’ll just feel it.” Vanessa had a small role in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Pop star Nick Lachey has denied rumours he married his TV presenter girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo this weekend. On Saturday, Fox News claimed the couple - who have been dating since April 2006 - were due to exchange vows in a secret ceremony in the Bahamas, but the stories have now been dismissed as speculation.

According to reports, Fox was said to have made up the story.

Nick Lachey has popped the question to gorgeous girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo- & the couple plan to marry this spring.

“They’re moving forward with plans for an April wedding,” a close friend told The ENQUIRER. The engagement comes slightly more than a year after Nick, 33, & Jessica Simpson announced their split. Now Nick and Vanessa are mulling destinations for their wedding and honeymoon, disclosed a friend.

“Since they both love Baja, Mexico, it will probably happen south of the border, where they first fell in love.”

Exciting!!!  TEAM LACHEY!!!  I don’t know how much I love Vanessa, but I’m so glad Nick is moving on & now Jessica will see what she’s lost.  We all know the thing with Tony Romo won’t last.
