Usher has hit back at suggestions his wife is envious of his legions of female fans, insisting she understands it is these women who buy his records.
The Confessions star married stylist Tameka Foster last August and he claims she has since adjusted to the fact her husband has scores of amorous female admirers.
He explains, “Tameka doesn’t mind when the fans throw their underwear at me. Being a sex symbol pays the bills. And she knows that.”

Usher is set to boost Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, by performing at the Democratic Convention next month.
Usher’s manager Benny Medina reveals Usher has been approached about appearing at the event in Denver, Colorado in August.
Medina tells the New York Daily News, “There’ve been offers to do things in and around the convention and we are just looking to see which one will be the most productive. He is obviously a huge Barack supporter.”

Usher has hit back at suggestions he named his baby son after himself to boost his own ego – insisting it was his resemblance to the tot which prompted the decision.
The Confessions singer welcomed his first child, Usher Raymond V, in November with his wife Tameka Foster.
And the star is angered his son’s name has provoked such a negative reaction.
He says, “He’s called Usher because he looks so much like me. He looks so much like me it would have been hard to call him anything else. It was the obvious choice. It’s really changed me for the better, he’s a great kid.”

Usher is reportedly considering re-hiring his mother as his manager after his latest album failed to live up to expectations.
The singer ended his 15-year professional relationship with Jonetta Patton and her JPat Record Label just days before Mother’s Day.
The 29-year-old replaced Patton with managing mogul Benny Medina – responsible for the careers of heavyweights such as Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez.
But he is now allegedly blaming Medina for disappointing sales of his new album Here I Stand.
The CD debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard charts, but sold just 433,000 copies in its first week – compared to his 2004 album Confessions, which came in at a staggering 1.1 million.
A source tells the New York Daily News, “Usher was livid. He threatened to fire everyone. People have been telling Usher to listen to his mother.
Nobody knows how to sell him better than she does. Usher can be stubborn. But he may be ready (to re-hire his mother).”
The singer admitted he fell out with his mother last May over what he considered to be her lack of support, after Patton missed his wedding to Tameka Foster last August.
In July, he told Vibe magazine, “(I paid my mother) the ultimate compliment – to retire her to be a full-time grandmother.”

Usher wants to play the leading role in a biopic of legendary singer Marvin Gaye.
The Love in This Club hitmaker has already played Gaye once before during a guest-appearance on U.S. television show American Dreams.
And now he is desperate to portray Gaye in a movie version of his life story.
He says, “I want to be the person who tells the story of Marvin Gaye because I understand the conflict he had as a man.”
Unfortunately for the singer, a film about Marvin Gaye’s life is already in production – with former Law & Order star Jesse L. Martin in the lead role.

Reformed womanizer Usher fights a daily battle to stay faithful and true to his wife Tameka, because he’s “not good” at being in love.
The singer married the stylist last September and two months later she gave birth to their first child, Usher Raymond V.
And while Usher insists marriage and commitment have changed his life for the better, he admits monogamy doesn’t come naturally to him – and he has to fight his wandering eye.
The star tells Cosmopolitan magazine, “I’m good at making love, but I’m not good at being in love. It’s a conscious decision every day to love the person you’re with.”

Usher credits his wife Tameka Foster with changing his playboy ways – because he was never able to remain faithful to his partners before the pair met.
He married stylist Foster last September and welcomed a son, Usher Raymond V, two months later.
But the 29-year-old singer romanced a string of beauties before walking down the aisle – including TLC star Rozonda ‘Chili’ Thomas – and detailed his struggle with monogamy on 2004 hit Confessions.
However, he claims to have left his bachelor days well behind him since meeting Foster.
He says, “When I became a husband, I became a great man. Being a guy who’s a hustler, a player – everybody knows who I used to be. But now (I’m) a man of integrity. The combination of father and individual. Being a young man who could have a bevy of women and do whatever, to become more conscious to accept a monogamous relationship – not just (to) be that guy who goes from woman to woman, but a guy of substance.”
