Uma Thurman is engaged to her Swiss multimillionaire boyfriend, Arpad “Arki” Busson, her rep confirms to People.
“I can confirm she is engaged,” Stephen Huvane said on Friday. New York’s Daily News was first to report the engagement.
In return for saying yes, the actress received some serious sparkle: an 8-plus carat center stone surrounded by 20 smaller stones. “It’s the most beautiful piece I’ve ever seen,” says a close source of the diamond ring. “Arki did a wonderful job.”
The pair began dating last summer after attending a private dinner together in Milan. Since then, their relationship quickly heated up despite the fact that the couple lived on different continents (she is based in New York, he in London).
It would be the third marriage for Thurman, who has a son and daughter with ex Ethan Hawke, whom she divorced in 2003. Her marriage to Gary Oldman ended in 1992. Busson has two sons with former supermodel Elle Macpherson, from whom he split in 2005.
No wedding date has been set, says the source.

Uma Thurman regrets her father never encouraged her to follow his Buddhist faith - because it meant she couldn’t be rebellious.
The Kill Bill star’s father Robert was the first westerner to become a Tibetan Buddhist monk, but never pressed his religious views onto his children.
Thurman says, “My father didn’t impose his religion on us as children to the point that maybe it would have been nice to have a little more - something to rebel against.”

Crazed Uma Thurman fan Jack Jordan has been ordered to keep his distance from the Hollywood star for five years following his conviction for stalking and harassing her.
He was arrested outside Thurman’s New York home in 2005 after attempting to force his way into her movie trailer, while she was shooting My Super Ex-Girlfriend.
During the week-long trial at New York’s Manhattan Supreme Court, Thurman and her parents testified, revealing how Jordan had bombarded them with notes and letters, and threatened to kill himself if her mother and father refused to pass on the messages.
The 37-year-old was found guilty of fourth-degree stalking and one count of second degree aggravated harassment by the jury on May 6th.
But Jordan escaped jail time when he was sentenced on Monday - a judge decided instead to simply order him to stay away, and gave him three years’ probation.
Jordan was also told to seek outpatient treatment as part of his punishment, according to website TMZ.com.
He was acquitted on two other aggravated harassment charges.

French cosmetics giant Lancome and Uma Thurman are wrangling over the use of her name and image in an advertising campaign.
The company asked for a ruling against the actress, who it says is demanding $1 million for unauthorized use of her name and face on Canadian billboards and Asian Web sites after her contract expired.
Thurman’s lawyer, Bertram Fields, said he was surprised by Lancome’s lawsuit.
“I thought we were negotiating in good faith,” Fields said Thursday. “I guess the French decided to strike a pre-emptive blow.”
Lancome and Thurman signed a two-year contract in April 2000 with an option to extend the agreement for another two years.
Under the terms, Lancome agreed to pay Thurman $5.8 million for the first two years and $3.1 million for each additional year, if the company exercised its option.
Lancome claims the contract relieves the company of responsibility if third parties use her name and face after the contract lapses.
Lancome’s lawyer, Peter D. Raymond, said his client “can’t control everybody out in the world.”
The papers were filed Wednesday in Manhattan’s state Supreme Court. Earlier this week, 37-year-old Jack Jordan was convicted of stalking and harassing Thurman in the court’s criminal part.
“I’m delighted that the case will go before a jury,” Thurman’s lawyer said. “They got an enormous benefit throughout the world after the contract was over, and $1 million doesn’t begin to do it.”
