On Aging

“For an actress, every developmental stage is a culling of the herd. New people are found and pushed to the forefront. It freaks me out a little less these days. It makes it easier having gone through working as a teenager and being told that there would be no career for me as a 20 year old. And then working as a 20 year old and being told that was it. And then having children and being told there wouldn’t be a career for me now. The characters I get to play as a mature woman are much more interesting than the ingénues I got to play as a kid, so I feel okay about it”

On her looks

“It’s the same with all actresses. Whether it’s there beautiful long wavy hair or their extraordinary lips or their sparkling green eyes or warm laugh, they’re pegged to some physical attribute. If I looked distinctly different, I would have a different kind of career and different kinds of challenges. But there are plenty of challenges that come from being a tall girl. Nobody would have thought I would have a 20-year career in front of me when I started!”

Uma Thurman has been forced to deny she is expecting her first child with fiance Arki Busson following reports she purchased a bundle of over-sized dresses to prepare for pregnancy.

According to New York Daily News reports on Monday, the actress’ assistant called luxury retailer Fred Segal last week, ordering six dresses two sizes too large for the star.

But a representative for Thurman insists the reports are false, telling Usmagazine.com: “She is absolutely not pregnant. She also did not order any clothes from Fred Segal. We are trying to find out if someone used her name to order clothes that were not meant for her.”

Thurman was forced to deny she was pregnant in July, just after announcing her engagement to Busson, when pictures of the 38-year-old in a bikini on vacation sparked reports she was expecting.

The Kill Bill star has two children, Maya, 10, and Levon, six, with ex-husband Ethan Hawke.

We now bring further evidence that they’re expecting. Last week, Uma’s assistant called Fred Segal in Santa Monica and ordered a half dozen dresses from Tricky Threads. “They were all two sizes larger than she usually orders,” says our spy.

Uma Thurman and fiance Arpad ‘Arki’ Busson have been caught skinny dipping in an Italian lake by the paparazzi.

The couple – which announced their engagement last month – was spotted scantily clad in the water just hours after joining Liam Neeson and wife Natasha Richardson for dinner.

Despite appearing topless in the images, Thurman will no doubt be unfazed by the photographs.

Earlier this month, she defended the paparazzi. She said, “They can definitely be annoying, but at the end of the day these photographers are just doing their jobs – one they probably never imagined they would have.”
