The Sci-Fi channel reimagined The Wizard of Oz in more ways than one with the making of Tin Man. The mini series was a story of D.G. (Dorothy) who gets swept up by a tornado and taken back to the O.Z. (outer zone) where she is in search of the emerald to save the O.Z. from her sister Azkadillia and find her mother.
The tin man is an officer for Central City and he reminds us to have a heart. The zipperhead, Ambrose, has lost his brain due to Azkadillia having it removed to power her super machine. The lion is a clairvoyant of sorts, and Toto is an African American man who shape-shifts from dog to man.
I’m not going to give away the ending, but I liked it and the twist that they put on the entire storyline. It was definitely different.
Fear not, Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives fans: The writers’ strike may be close to coming to an end.
Writers and studio executives are expected to meet for the second time in two days on Tuesday, the Associated Press reports.
On Monday, writers — who want to be compensated for DVD sales and work shown on the Internet — met at an undisclosed location for the first time since talks broke down November 4.
The industry blog, Deadline Hollywood, reported that a deal could be in place before Christmas.
Reps for the Writers Guild and the Alliance for Motion Picture & Television, which represents studios and networks, declined to comment.
Emeril Lagasse is out at the Food Network. Contract negotiations between Emeril and parent corporation Scripps have broken down. Lagasse is leaving the Food Network as a result and the last day of production for Emeril Live will be on December 11.
Reruns of both Emeril Live will continue to appear on the channel and Lagasse will “continue to be a part of the Food Network family”, according to Carrie Welch of the Food Network. Lagasse’s defection follows Mario Batali’s exit back in September.
Leaders of the Writers Guild of America will resume negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers on November 26, according to a joint statement released by both groups. This announcement comes 12 days into a work stoppage that brought TV and movie productions to a halt. No other details were forthcoming, though it seems the AMPTP have dropped their insistence that writers would have to return to work before the producers would come back to the bargaining table.

Before a stunned television audience, Marie Osmond collapsed after her samba routine at Dancing with the Stars on Monday, but recovered enough to get her scores and apologize.
“This happens sometimes when I get winded,” a visibly embarrassed Osmond, 48, told co-host Samantha Harris. “I’m so sorry.”
Viewers watching the show live in the East saw Osmond perform a show-stopping samba, then walk to the judge’s table with partner Jonathan Roberts. A visibly winded Osmond then leaned back into Roberts twice before falling onto the floor.
Roberts broke her fall, and the ballroom fell silent. Host Tom Bergeron looked down at Osmond and quickly sent the show to commercial.
As soon as the show went to commercial two medics and Osmond’s manager rushed to her side. The ballroom was silent for more than a minute before Osmond was helped to her feet by Roberts and her manager. The ballroom erupted into applause.
Osmond took two steps and curtsied before wobbly walking with assistance from Roberts backstage.
Once out of sight from the audience, Osmond assured the two medics that she was fine and the show came back live so she and Roberts could receive their scores.
So I’ve been talking alot this morning about various TV shows and whatnot – and it got me to thinking… which shows are losing their spark? Which shows were SO hot last year – and this year they’re just fizzling? Or which shows started this season with a bang – and their second or third episode are a bust? DISCUSS!
Here are the some of the shows I think are in need of new writers.
Brothers & Sisters
Greys Anatomy
Private Practice
Big Shots (I think it’s a good show – but it’s in real danger of being cancelled, IMO)
Bionic Woman – okay the show was never good – just cancel it already!
Which show would you add to this list?

Looks like after leaving SNL for less than 24 hours, Miss Rudolph has made a return to NBC:
”It was an agonizing decision, but ultimately, I feel I made the best choice both as a mother and as an actress. I couldn’t be happier to be returning to SNL.”
I wonder what brought her back ($$$)?
