Christian Bale is in talks to replace Tom Cruise as the President of the United States.
Cruise has quit Warner Bros. movie 28th Amendment, prompting movie bosses to seek out Bale.
MovieHole.net reports talks between movie executives and Cruise broke down last month and he’ll no longer play Ben Cahill in the Phillip Noyce action thriller.
In the film, President Cahill battles the leaders of a super secret organization, who control all U.S. affairs. Denzel Washington will reportedly play the leader of the sect.

Will Smith defends his pal Tom Cruise in a new interview with USA Today.
He said the criticism Cruise, 45, has received for his Scientology faith has been “painful for me to see. I’ve met very few people committed to goodness the way Tom is.”
The Hancock star, 39 — who was rumored to have converted to Scientology after speaking out about the controversial religion — was raised Baptist and said he remains Christian.
“We disagree on a lot of things,” added Smith, who attended Nelson Mandella’s 90th birthday in London on Wednesday. “But even with different faiths and different beliefs, at the end of the day, goodness is goodness.”
He said that their friendship thrives on rivalry.
They currently compete to see who can sign autographs longer.
“It’s hard to beat that dude,” Smith said. “He has another gear. He did two-and-a-half hours in France for Mission: Impossible on the red carpet. Now when I go to France, people will say, ‘You know, Tom was out here for two-and-a-half hours.’”
He also opened up about raising his children Willow, 7, and Jaden, 9 (whom he had with wife Jada Pinkett) and son Trey, 15, (from a previous marriage).
“The kids can do anything they want, as long as Daddy thinks it’s funny,” he says. “And artistically, that’s where you need to be, too. You have to find the humor in things.”
The same rule applies to tabloid rumors about his life.
“You have to let that roll off you,” he said. “There’s a natural narcotic my brain must pump, because negativity doesn’t last. It’s strange to play a guy like Hancock, who can’t find something to feel good about. That’s the opposite of who I am.”

Tom Cruise has reportedly recruited Hollywood pals David Beckham and Will Smith to join him in his newest hobby: fencing.
The Mission: Impossible star is said to have built a room in his U.S. home for practicing his swordsmanship - and often invites close friends Smith and Beckham to join him in the sport.
Smith tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, “Tom has a room for training. We don’t get enough time for hanging out, just us three guys, so this is his way of getting together and bonding. David and I go to his home and just do fencing. It’s a lot of fun. We wanted an activity that was strenuous, but we’re getting older - we have to think about slowing down. We’ve got to watch our joints. Especially my knee… Ow.”

Dr. Drew Pinsky issued a tempered apology to Tom Cruise on Thursday after the therapist raised questions about the actor’s mental health.
“Dr. Drew meant no harm to Mr. Cruise and apologizes if his comments were hurtful,” Pinsky’s rep said in a statement.
But Pinsky, the host of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, continued the war of words with Cruise’s attorney, Bert Fields, who sharply criticized Pinsky for his comments in Playboy.
Pinsky speculated in the magazine that Cruise’s Scientology beliefs could be a result of childhood “neglect,” prompting Fields to call Pinksy a “posturing flake” who “pretends to diagnose people he’s never met.”
Pinsky responds: “Although Mr. Fields’s intent is clearly to slander and discredit Dr. Drew, under no circumstances is Dr. Drew making a blanket diagnosis about Scientology nor Mr. Cruise whom he does not know. Dr. Drew was simply using Mr. Cruise as an example of someone who is recognizable to help the public understand. Again, Dr. Drew meant him no harm.”

45-year-old Tom Cruise has a fleet of very expensive cars and all of them are equipped with bulletproof windows and are bombproof, too.
“It sounds like he’s taken a page out of one of his action movies,” explains an insider. “A-list celebrities know they can’t be too careful. Tom’s vehicles look perfectly normal, but in reality they are more like armored trucks. He really, really loves his cars and he can afford the best.”
All of Tom’s chauffeurs are professionally trained defensive drivers, says the insider, so they can get him out of traffic problems and protect him from possible trouble.
Still, he often prefers to drive his wife, Katie Holmes, and his three children himself. “Tom is a car nut,” the insider adds. “He has practical everyday cars, classic collectibles and high-powered sports cars like the Porsche 911 Turbo. Of course he loves every minute behind the wheel, but he’s not stupid and he’s not going to take any chances while he’s driving.”
In May, Tom was seen taking his 2-year-old daughter, Suri, out for a “cruise” in his tricked out SUV. Tom is often seen behind the wheel when he visits his home in Telluride, Colo. Once, he even rescued a stranded fellow driver there.
