Tina Turner urges Amy Winehouse to seek help

Amy Winehouse

Tina Turner has spoken out in support of troubled star Amy Winehouse – urging her to seek help to deal with her “problems”.

Turner, who is gearing up for a comeback world tour, praises the Back To Black star’s vocal talents, branding her legendary voice as “wonderful”.

But the veteran performer insists Winehouse must face the demons which threaten to ruin her glittering career.
She says, “Her problems started before the success and that is the problem. This girl’s voice is wonderful, timeless. If she wants to help herself… of course she can and she must.”

Earlier this month, the Rehab singer avoided being charged with drug offences by British police, after a video was handed to U.K. authorities showing her supposedly taking narcotics.

Tina Turner says Cher inspired her to leave Ike

Tina Turner

Tina Turner has confessed Cher inspired her to leave her abusive marriage to ex-husband Ike – because her pal looked so happy as a single woman.

Tina left Ike in July 1976, a year after Cher ended her marriage to Sonny Bono.

The pair were close pals and Turner admits she was fascinated watching Cher take to being a single woman.

Speaking on an Oprah Winfrey Show special on Thursday, during which she performed onstage with Cher, Turner says, “I just remember she was so free. I admired her freedom.”

But the 68-year-old diva admits being on her own was tough at first. She says, “I called it Tina’s Operation Oops, because I made so many oops. But I slowly learned.”
