Tim McGraw talks about how he got Faith Hill to marry him

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have been married for nineteen years and to commemorate the occasion, he talked about how he got her to marry him. Spoiler alert: It’s super cute.

Sharing their nineteenth anniversary together on October 6th, McGraw recalled proposing to his wife.

Us Weekly reports:

“We were in the dressing room, here, June 26, 1996,” the father of three says in the clip. “And it was raining and stuff and we’d been on tour for a while together, and I joked around with her about getting married. And so I said… I looked at her, grabbed her by the hand, and dropped forward [on my knees] onstage. She had already done her show. And I said, ‘I’m really serious. I want you to marry me.'”

According to McGraw, Hill laughed in response. “She said, ‘We’re at a country music festival in a trailer house, and you’re asking me to marry you? And I said, ‘Yeah.’ So I went onstage.”

While McGraw was performing, Hill had other plans of her own. “I had in my dressing room… this foldout case that had a mirror in it that was my dressing armoire,” McGraw recalled. “I still have it to this day. When I came back offstage, [I saw] a Sharpie with lipstick kisses all over it, saying, ‘Yes! I’m gonna be your wife.’ It had, ‘I love you’ with big lipstick kisses. And this is the place right here.”

Aren’t they just the cutest couple ever?

Faith Hill stages intervention for husband Tim McGraw?

Faith Hill stages intervention for husband Tim McGraw?

Faith Hill and her husband Tim McGraw have been dogged by divorce rumors and now there are reports circulating that she has staged an intervention for her famous husband.

According to the latest gossip, Tim was leading a drug-crazed double life until his wife stepped in and saved him from dying. Tabloids suggested that the country singer was living a destructive existence and was partying with drugs all night.

A source said, “When Tim hit it big in country music in the early 1990s, Nashville was awash in drugs, especially cocaine. The money was rolling in and it was no secret around Nashville that Tim was a big drug user, but when you’re a big star, it gets swept under the rug.”

The insider continued, “Tim would drink beer, tequila and whiskey with his pals, and then would use drugs to keep the party going all night. He’d be so loaded he’d start flirting with women, or somebody would look at him the wrong way and he’d be ready to start a brawl.”

The spy added, “More than one person saw the road Tim was going down and told him, ‘Son, you’re not living long like this’. She wasn’t going to stand by while he killed himself. Tim begged Faith not to leave him – and within days, he quit drugs and alcohol cold turkey! Faith began calling the shots in his life and staged an intervention – telling him what he needed to do if he wanted to keep his family together.”

Tim McGraw talks about why he quit partying

Tim McGraw talks about why he quit partying

Country singer Tim McGraw is featured on the cover of the latest issue of “Men’s Health” and inside, he sheds some light on why he gave up the partying scene.

“When your wife tells you it’s gone too far, that’s a big wake-up call,” McGraw, 47, says in the new issue of Men’s Health (available for download today). “That, and realizing you’re gonna lose everything you have. Not monetarily, not career-wise, but family-wise.”

“It got to the point where my kids were getting older, and it was way past the point that they noticed it. And I noticed that they noticed. That’s enough to straighten you out,” shares the dad of Gracie, 17, Maggie, 15, and Audrey, 12.

McGraw, who was named favorite country music icon at this year’s People’s Choice Awards, admits that for a long time he wasn’t a good role model. “I drank too much. I partied too much. And did other things too much. Chemically,” says McGraw. “No needles or that kind of stuff, but … use your imagination.”

In fact, McGraw saw himself heading in the same direction as late country singer Keith Whitley, who died of alcohol poisoning in 1989.

“Keith Whitley taught me how demons can overtake you if you let ’em. And I was headed down that path. You feel like you’re supposed to be ‘on’ all the time. Then you drink and get onstage, and all of a sudden you feel confident and powerful.”

“It becomes a habit. Up until seven years ago, there were not a lot of shows that I didn’t have something in my system,” the singer adds.

Kudos to him for straightening up and flying right!

Star Magazine: Faith Hill & Tim McGraw’s marriage from hell!

Star Magazine: Faith Hill & Tim McGraw's marriage from hell!

Country singing couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are featured on the cover of this week’s issue of “Star” magazine. Inside of this issue, the tabloid claims that their marriage is falling apart. We would be worried if that were remotely true…

Still, magazines don’t make money selling issues that contain the nice stories about how everyone is living in peace and loving each other, do they?

It wasn’t that long ago that the “National Enquirer” was claiming that these two were going through some expensive divorce and they’re still together. It just goes to show you that you can’t always believe what you read in the tabloids. Who knew?!?
