Tiger Woods’ Apology: Part Two

61010a1_woods_t_b_gr_09

Tiger Woods is in T-R-O-U-B-L-E with the wifey and he knows it! Here is the full statement he left this morning on his personal website:

I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.

But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don’t share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one’s own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn’t have to mean public confessions.

Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it’s difficult.

I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.

Hear Tiger Woods Panic To Mistress – “My Wife May Be Calling You”‏

u774.cover

On Nov. 24 — the day before reports of his alleged infidelity first surfaced — Tiger Woods, 33, phoned his off-and-on girlfriend, 24 year-old Los Angeles cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs, and left a message in which he begged her to change her voicemail greeting.

“Hey, it’s Tiger,” he says in the voicemail, obtained by Usmagazine.com (listen at the link below). “I need you to do me a huge favor. Can you please take your name off your phone? My wife went through my phone and may be calling you. So if you can, please take your name off that. Just have it as a number on the voicemail. You got to do this for me. Huge. Quickly. Bye.”

In this week’s issue of Us Weekly (on newstands nationwide Friday) Grubbs details their 31-month affair. She reveals that they first hooked up in April 2007, and went on to have 20 sexual encounters. She also shares her evidence, including photos and more than 300 racy text messages. One from Woods begins: “I will wear you out…” “I loved how we got along,” Grubbs tells Us Weekly. “But I knew, in the back of my mind, there could never be just us. There would always be the wife, or somebody else.”

The billionaire golfer wed model Elin Nordegren, 29, in 2004; they have a two-year old daughter, Sam, and a nine-month old son, Charlie. The couple’s argument over Woods’ alleged affair with NYC hostess Rachel Uchitel, 34, reportedly led to his one-car accident near his home in Florida this Friday.

A Los Angeles cocktail waitress tells the new Us Weekly (on newsstands Wednesday) that she had a steamy 31-month fling with Tiger Woods and has a voicemail recording and text messages to prove it.

Jaimee Grubbs, now 24, tells Us Weekly she began having an affair with Woods, 33, in April 2007.

She tells Us Weekly they went on to have 20 sexual encounters.

Grubbs, who recently appeared on VH1′s Tool Academy, also tells Us Weekly she has photos, as well as more than 300 racy texts from Woods, who wed model Elin Nordegren in 2004.

Come back to Usmagazine.com Wednesday morning to listen to a Nov. 24 voicemail Woods left Grubbs in which he suggests his wife might suspect he is having an affair.

Talk of the alleged affair with New York City club manager Rachel Uchitel reportedly led to Woods’ one-car accident near his home in Florida this past Friday.

TMZ has reported that Woods and his wife were arguing about the alleged fling just before the crash.

Tiger Woods Will Not Play in His Tourney

tiger-woods

Tiger Woods announced on his Web site today that he will be unable to play in the 2009 Chevron World Challenge this weekend at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif., due to injuries he sustained in his car accident last week. “I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week,” Tiger says.”I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I’m very sorry that I can’t be there.”

The annual tournament benefits the Tiger Woods foundation, an organization offering scholarships and helping children and teens gain the skill set need to achieve their future goals.

“We support Tiger’s decision and are confident the strong field and excellent course will provide an exciting week of competition at the Chevron World Challenge,” said Greg McLaughlin, Tiger Woods Foundation President & CEO.

Tiger will not participate in any other tournaments in 2009 and will return to action next year.

The pro golfer endure facial cuts and was hospitalized after he accidentally struck a tree and fire hydrant outside of his Windermere, Fla. home on Friday morning. A source at TMZ reports that the entire mishap may have been caused by an argument with his 29-year-old wife, Elin Nordegren.

According to a TMZ source, Elin and Tiger had been fighting prior to the Escalade collision, days after rumors surfaced in the National Enquirer of an affair between Tiger, 33, and the alleged Rachel Uchitel who claims that the entire story is bogus.

Tiger Woods gets candid about his life & family

Tiger Woods

Everywhere Tiger Woods goes, he draws a huge crowd. While recently promoting his video game, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, he saw firsthand how crazy the throng could be. “This is abnormal,” he confided to People after navigating through a sea of fans who were trying to give him high-fives and snapping his picture. “Everything else about my life is very normal. I do the same things everyone else does.”

(Note to Tiger: “Everyone else” doesn’t play video golf with Jimmy Fallon in Times Square, backing up traffic and drawing more than a thousand screaming fans.)

In a rare quiet moment, Woods sat down with People for a candid interview to discuss family and fatherhood, including the lessons he learned from his late dad, Earl Woods, who died of cancer in 2006.

Family Bonding
Woods, who missed much of the last golf season due to a knee injury, tells People that he used the break to spend time more solid, quality with his then 1-year-old daughter, Sam.

“We’re different than other sports in the fact that we don’t spend half our season at home. We’re always on the road,” he explains. “I got a chance to be around her all the time, so that was a huge bonus.”

While rehabbing his knee, Woods played games with Sam, whom he describes as “very active.” They also sang songs and even tried to play video games. (“It didn’t work,” says Woods. “She was too young.”) And the video games weren’t simply for fun: Woods credits the hours he spent playing his own computer game on the Wii Fit with getting him back in shape.

Despite the time off from golf, Woods recalls the forced hiatus as a happy time: His wife Elin was pregnant with son Charlie Axel, now 4 months old. Sam was going through the cute toddler phase, and Woods got a chance to reconnect with friends and family. “I would have missed a lot,” says Woods, who won the AT&T National earlier this month.

Lessons from Dad
The only downside? The absence of Woods’s father, Earl. “I think of him every day,” says Woods simply. “He taught me everything.” Including golf.

When Woods was a toddler, Earl would put him in a white high chair in the garage while the elder Woods practiced his swing. “I grew up in Southern California,” says Woods. “There was El Nino that year, and all the storms lined up. He couldn’t play golf outside, but he wanted to continue working on his game. I just happened to be around. I got enthralled with it; absolutely loved it. I didn’t want to come out of the high chair.” Soon, Earl put a club in Tiger’s hands, and a golf superstar emerged.

As for his own children, Woods plan to encourage them to pursue their passions. “Whatever they want to do is fine with me,” he says. Are they athletic? Woods isn’t sure yet. “They’re so young,” he explains. “Sam is very active; she loves to run. She runs a lot. [But] Charlie is only 4 months old. Who knows?”

Tiger Woods Reveals New Baby Son

tiger-woods-b_1.jpg

Tiger Woods shows off his adorable 10-day-old son, Charlie Axel Woods, in the new issue of Golf magazine.

The golfer and wife Elin Nordegren welcomed their first son on Feb. 8.

“Both Charlie and Elin are doing great, and we want to thank everyone for their sincere best wishes and kind thoughts,” Woods blogged on his Web site the day Charlie was born.

The Golf magazine photos shows Woods, Nordegren and their daughter, Sam Alexis, 20 months, cradling the newborn.

“Sam is very excited to be a big sister and we feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful family,” Woods blogged.

Woods has been a stay-at-home dad since injuring his knee in June 2008, but will soon return to the PGA tour, Golf reports.
