The final installment of Twilight hit theaters this weekend, and in the meantime scored the eighth biggest opening of all time with $141.3 million. ‘Breaking Dawn Part 1′ hit theaters last year with $138.1 million, and ‘New Moon’ opened with $142.8 million in 2009.

Impressively, “Breaking Dawn — Part 2″ also earned $199.6 million in its international debut this weekend, giving it an early global total of $340.9 million. When all is said and done, the film will likely finish just above $700 million. After all, the last three Twilight films — Breaking Dawn — Part 1, Eclipse, and New Moon — earned $712.2 million, $709.8 million, and $698.5 million, respectively. Like I said, it’s a remarkably consistent franchise.

That consistency may be why Breaking Dawn — Part 2 didn’t experience an expected box office boost, despite being the grand finale of the popular franchise. Other finales have earned substantially more on their opening weekends, drawing in casual viewers who want to be part of the pop culture moment. In 2011 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2 opened 35 percent higher than its predecessor with $169.2 million. In 2005 Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith (which was thought to be the final Star Wars film at the time) started with 36 percent more than its predecessor with $108.4 million. But it appears that The Twilight Saga is a different beast. Fans are either in — and they’ve been in for a few years — or they’re not interested.

Fortunately for Summit (a Lionsgate company following their acquisition earlier this year), who spent about $120 million to produce Breaking Dawn — Part 2, that cult of loyal fans is still gigantic. The film scored a blazing $34,717 per theater average from its 4,070 theaters — the best average at the entire box office. Twihards are known for rushing to the theater at the first possible moment, so Breaking Dawn — Part 2 is expected to fall quickly from here, but with the lucrative Thanksgiving frame coming up, it should enjoy at least one more massive weekend and climb to about $300 million total.

Who knew Kristen Stewart had an oral fixation! We should have known, all that lip-biting, and uncomfortableness.

Last night the 22-year-old ‘Twilight’ star told Conan O’Brien that she recently quit smoking (say what!?), but claims it was easy because she was never addicted.

“I was a bit of a faker, a circumstantial smoker. I just feel like I wasn’t addicted to nicotine,” Stewart explained and tried to carefully choose her next words, before giving in. “I just wanted something in my mouth.”

With her cheating scandal and the “trampire” label some publications attached to her, it’s good to see Stewart still has her sense of humor.

“Why did I do that?” she asked O’Brien, as a her face turned red from embarrassment.

“I’m glad for the Internet that you did do that,” Conan responded.

The star of “Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” which hits theaters Nov. 16, was full of one-liners last night. Stewart also revealed to Conan that her father is “a total famewhore.”

Though Stewart may not appreciate the constant attention, there’s nothing her dad likes more:

“You go anywhere, even if I’m not with him, he’s like, ‘Hey, I’m John. Stewart. Father of Kristen… Have you ever seen ‘Twilight?’ Yeah, well, that’s my kid!’”

I don’t really understand this pantsuit that Kristen wore to the UK premiere of ‘Breaking Dawn 2′ yesterday. Part of me really wants to love it (because I absolutely LOVE black lace), but I’m finding myself thinking it is just strange.

The pantsuit is Zuhair Murad. It’s just all sorts of wrong. Sorry, I can’t get over it.

So here are more pictures of the crew. Kristen, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner (does he wear the same suit to every premiere?). In Touch weekly is reporting that Kristen and Robert are going to break up as soon as promotions for Breaking Dawn is over.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have reconciled their relationship since she cheated on him, even having been caught kissing at her house! The two are reunited on the red carpet, but it may not be for good, if a new report is to be believed.

In Touch magazine claims that Rob, 26, is planning to dump Kristen, 22, for good once their obligations to the Twilight Saga are complete.

“He’s been waiting for all the promotion for Breaking Dawn — Part 2 to be over, and then he’s going to move on fully,” a source tells the publication. “He won’t have a tie to her after all this is done, and then he won’t be forced to see her.”

It seems that Rob’s broken trust in Kristen hasn’t fully healed, and no matter how much he cares for her, he can’t get over it.

“Rob loves her; he always will. But it’s over in his mind,” the insider says. “For any relationship to survive, there has to be trust. And Kristen lost Rob’s.”

I have always thought that the only reason why the two of them got back together after Kristen was caught cheating….was because they had this movie they had to go out and promote. Once Twilight is behind them, I do see them going separate ways. And I would know, right? Years of expertise?

Ashley Greene hit the red carpet last night in Los Angeles, wearing a gorgeous baby-pink dress by Donna Karan (she’s the face of the brand). I always think Ashley looks gorgeous, and last night was definitely no different!

Nikki Reed wore this beautiful silver dress by Versace. I really like it on her. Looks fabulous!

Taylor Lautner still looks twelve years old to me.

I have to admit that I’m not too surprised at this news.  Deadline Hollywood reports that Universal Studios decided to drop the ‘Stretch Armstrong‘ movie that was scheduled to star Taylor Lautner.  Now Relativity Studios picked it up, but Taylor is no longer the lead actor attached to it.

The Tay-Tay camp is claiming “it was our choice” to pull out of the film, but in fact a project insider told Deadline months ago right after Lautner’s Lionsgate film Abduction bombed that the studio was rethinking the project with Lautner as star but that Hasbro would make the final decision on the status of the project. Looks like that has happened.

Do you see Taylor having much success after the Twilight films are done and over this year? I’m a little curious to see who they get to lead this one now. Did you see ‘Abduction’? What did you think?

Have you seen this cover floating around the internet lately? According to this FAKE People cover, Taylor Lautner has come out of the closet!

Not so fast.

Part one of the franchise’s fourth adaptation brought in a shocking amount of money over the weekend, scoring $283.5 million worldwide!

“Breaking Dawn” grossed $139.5 million domestically and $144 million overseas, making it the fifth largest domestic box office opening and the 10th largest worldwide.

Did you go see it? I didn’t – I was in NYC (I’ll write about that later). I can’t wait to see it! I don’t care that it probably sucks. Last time I checked, it got a measly 28% on Rotten Tomatoes. Do I care? No. Will I still pay to see it? Absolutely!
