It’s a boy for Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel. The couple welcomed a son, Walker Diggs, on Wednesday, the couple’s reps confirm to People.

“Mother, father and son are all doing well,” the reps said in a statement.

The Broadway belters announced the pregnancy in March, later sharing that the baby was a boy.

Although they had a few names in mind, Diggs said they were waiting to make a final decision.

“We have a couple [names] in the running,” the Private Practice star explained. “But part of us wants to see what he hits us with when we see him. We’ll see what he looks like.”

Walker is the first child for Menzel and Diggs, who are both 38 and met on the 1996 Broadway production of Rent. They wed in January 2003.

After 13 years together, Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel are expecting their first baby, their rep exclusively confirms to Usmagazine.com. The baby is due later this year.

The Private Practice star, 38, and the Tony award-winning actress, 37, first met on the original 1996 Broadway production of Rent in NYC. After seven years of dating, they got married in January 2003.

Menzel hinted to Us last January that once she finished promoting her third solo album, I Stand, she would consider starting a family with Diggs.

“It’s definitely in the plans,” she told Us. “I’ll settle down and start popping out some babies.”

She said Diggs has been ready for kids since “the day I met him.”

“He wouldn’t talk about marriage, but he’d talk about me having his children,” she told Us. “He’s always wanted kids. He grew up with four younger brothers and sisters, so he’s very comfortable around children.”

How do they keep their marriage together?

“We just really work hard to try to stay best friends,” Menzel told Us. “I love him so much, and I feel like we both have each other’s backs, and we have a great respect for each other. We’re enjoying each new phase of our lives together.”

The cast of the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff starring Kate Walsh and Taye Diggs is really clicking, Diggs tells PEOPLE.

“They’re great. We have really great chemistry,” Diggs, 36, said of his castmates Thursday at the opening of the new club Runway in New York City.

The initial episode has “just finished” filming, he said, “and we’re hoping people dig it.”

ABC plans to test out the show with a “back-door pilot,” an expanded two-hour episode of Grey’s, Reuters reported in February. No air date for the episode has been set.

Diggs, who said he plays a “general practitioner” on the show, was coy when asked if he could reveal any key plot details.

“Plot what? Secrets?” he said. “I can’t tell you! It’s a secret.”

Grey’s creator Shonda Rhimes is writing the first episode, which, according to USA Today, will feature Kate Walsh’s character, Dr. Addison Shepherd, mulling an out-of-town job offer.
