While the line-up for this year’s “Dancing With the Stars” is yet to be officially released, one person who won’t be appearing on the hit show is Tara Reid.

According to an inside source, the perennial party girl has applied for the show multiple times but was rejected each time on the basis that she isn’t “family friendly” enough. Ouch.

Reid’s rep confirmed she will not be appearing and denied that she had ever applied.

The show’s bigwigs were in serious negotiations with Dan Quayle about competing in the upcoming season. Apparently, the former vice president got cold feet at the last minute and decided he wasn’t ready to expose his dance-floor skills.

And speculation has been stirring for quite some time about whether Kim Kardashian will bring her booty into the ballroom — but it looks as though it’s going to be a double whammy this season. A Kardashian camp insider said that Kim will be battling against her mom, Kris Jenner.

The reality stars will reportedly be partnered with father/son pro dancers Mark and Corky Ballas.

Tara Reid is looking for someone to share her spacious condo with in Playa del Rey, Calif., but her reputation has made the search difficult.

“Tara really wanted to get a random roommate this summer and she liked the idea of making a new friend,” says one potential co-habitant. “But I backed out because I didn’t know if she’d be reliable or if the living situation would be too out of control.”

Maybe the applicant was right to be cautious: A lonely Tara, 32, has already hosted a string of house parties this summer. “She’s desperate to get people to her place,” a friend reports. “She’s been throwing lots of get-togethers.” “Nobody’s living in her three-bedroom home with her,” says an insider.

Tara Reid reportedly told organizers she would be attending last Tuesday night’s New Era “Capture the Flag” clothing launch, at Hollywood’s hot new Zune House and hosted by her pal Travis Barker (the tattooed ex-Blink 182 drummer was the inspiration behind the new skater-style line).

But Reid didn’t show because she’s shooting a pilot for a reality series centered on her efforts to turn over a new leaf and not party — sounds like one riveting watch.

According to an insider, Tara is taking the rumored role “very seriously,” which doesn’t quite explain why she spent all of last week hitting various parties and then Hale Bob designer Daniel Bohbot’s Summer of Love birthday bash on Wednesday.
