Less than a month after checking herself into the Promises Treatment Center, Tara Reid has left rehab, according to a source.
“She checked out on Saturday,” says the source. “She’s doing well. The whole family is very positive about this being the new beginning for her.”
Despite Reid being in treatment since only last month, her family and friends are optimistic about her future. “They are taking steps to do everything they can to help Tara keep on the right track,” adds the source.
When the 33-year-old actress entered rehab her rep would not reveal what she was being treated for.
In an interview in October, Reid told PEOPLE she was a “social drinker” who enjoyed an occasional glass of wine with friends, but said that her partying days were over.

Tara Reid’s reputation for being a party girl has finally caught up to her. On December 9, the American Pie star checked into Promises Treatment Center in Malibu. “She’s had a problem with alcohol for a while,” her brother Tommy, director of Wiffler and 7-10 Split, tells In Touch. “She decided it was time to change. She’s giving the best holiday gift to herself and to her family. We’re just so proud she’s helping herself.” Tommy adds that the timing was right for Tara. “She was ready now. Before it wouldn’t have worked because she wasn’t open to change.”

Tara Reid has entered rehab, the actress’s rep told Usmagazine.com on Friday.
“Tara Reid has checked herself into Promises Treatment Center,” her rep told Us. “We appreciate your respect to her and her family’s privacy at this time.”
In 2006, Reid, now 33, opened up to Us Weekly about her party girl image.
“I’m not always drunk. My picture is taken only when I have a cup in my hand,” she said. “Trust me, my body is tired. I partied hard. But I think it was that the people I partied with were not the best people.”
She called her short-lived E! series, Taradise, “probably the stupidest thing I ever did.
“It was a mess,” said Reid, who underwent a botched breast augmentation and stomach liposuction that left her disfigured in 2004. “I didn’t know it was going to ruin my career. People forget I’ve done, like, 20 movies. I’m not just a party girl.”
Reid — who just launched a clothing line, Mantra, and who has been dating Julien Jarmoune — said the next step in her life was “meeting a nice guy and getting married.
“Have kids and get my acting back,” the American Pie star told Us in 2006. “I feel like my rainbow is starting to come.”

Tara Reid has a message for anyone wishing to criticize her body: Enough already!
After unflattering bikini shots of her surfaced last week, Reid faced a barrage of Internet attacks aimed at her post-surgery figure. “I’ve been a media target for years now,” the actress, 33, tells PEOPLE. “It does hurt my feelings, but what can I do? I have to move on.”
Yet moving on has been difficult, especially because Reid has to live with the evidence of the past – the scars on her stomach from a 2004 liposuction surgery and subsequent reconstructive surgery in 2006. “They are my battle wounds,” she says of her “uneven” abs.
Producing independent films like 7-10 Split and working on her first clothing line, Mantra, keeps her busy. The line of bikinis, t-shirts, and casual wear is inspired by her moods.
“Red is for love, green for luck, white for peace – everything gives you a mantra of the day,” says Reid, who is currently dating business partner Julien Jarmoune. “I made this line about feeling good about yourself.”
