Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins Split!

FP_IMAGE_1514129/FP_SET_1513870

This is totally sad! Who’s next Goldie & Kurt?

After more than two decades together, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have split, UsMagazine.com has confirmed.

“Actress Susan Sarandon and her partner of 23 years, actor Tim Robbins have announced that they separated over the summer,” her rep Teal Cannaday tells Us. “No further comments will be made.”

The two — both known for sharing liberal political views — met on the set of the 1988 baseball comedy Bull Durham.

They have two sons: Jack Henry, 20, and Miles Guthrie, 17. (Sarandon has a daughter Eva Amurri, 24, from a previous relationship with Italian director Franco Amurri.)

At recent events, Sarandon, 63, declined to answer questions about Robbins, 51.

In 2004, she gushed to the Times of London, “He is a guy guy, and he is also 12 years younger than me. I won’t marry because I am too afraid of taking him for granted or him taking me for granted — maybe it will be a good excuse for a party when I am 80. Our children and property bind us, but so does the battle. We fight strongly but fairly. I can’t say that it is always comfortable, but he is my really good friend.”

Susan Sarandon & Tim Robbins Split

One of Hollywood’s most enduring relationships has ended – Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have broken up after more than two decades together, People has learned exclusively.

“Actress Susan Sarandon and her partner of 23 years, actor Tim Robbins have announced that they separated over the summer,” her rep Teal Cannaday tells People in a statement. “No further comments will be made.”

The couple met on the set of Bull Durham, and they have two sons together, Jack, 20, and Miles, 17.

Sarandon, 63, was previously married to Chris Sarandon, whom she met in college. The actress also dated director Franco Amurri in the mid ’80s. The two had a daughter, Eva Amurri, in 1985. (Amurri is also an actress; she most recently appeared in Showtime’s Californication).

Sarandon and Robbins, 51, were admired for their long relationship in the face of the pressures of show business, their much-discussed age difference – he’s 12 years younger – and that they never married.

“I won’t marry because I am too afraid of taking him for granted or him taking me for granted – maybe it will be a good excuse for a party when I am 80,” Sarandon has said in the past.

Both famous liberal activists, they have never been too political at home with their children. “I’ve never tried to force [politics] on them,” the actress tells Psychologies magazine in its January issue, but adds that the election of President Barack Obama “got them excited.”

The family all attended the inauguration in January, though Sarandon insists “our dinner table conversations are rarely political.”

Susan Sarandon will emigrate if John McCain becomes our next President

Susan Sarandon

Susan Sarandon has vowed to quit America with her longterm partner Tim Robbins if Republican John McCain wins November’s presidential election.

The actress is rooting for Democrat contender Barack Obama, and is packing her bags in case he or party rival Hillary Clinton don’t replace George W. Bush in the White House.

She says, “It’s a critical time, but I have faith in the American people.”

Sarandon also defends her support of Obama as opposed to Clinton, telling the New York Post, “I thought the whole point of feminism is that you’re not supposed to be defined by gender. I don’t understand the reasoning behind that, because I wouldn’t vote for (U.S. Secretary of State) Condoleezza Rice, and I hated (former British prime minister) Margaret Thatcher.”

Susan Sarandon warns against on-set affairs

Susan Sarandon

Susan Sarandon has warned off actresses from dating directors – because on-set flings end in disaster.

The Thelma & Louise star embarked on a romance with French director Louis Malle while they were making 1978 film Pretty Baby together.

But Sarandon insists the relationship was doomed from the start, because the power balance between them was too difficult to redefine once the film had wrapped.

She explains, “That was a life lesson, for sure. Louis was 14 years older than me and very sophisticated, and I learned a lot during our relationship. The problem was that if you start to sleep with the director when you’re making a film, then the dynamic is very hard to change.

She adds, “You’re there to make his world happen for him, and that continues after the film is over, too – so when my world started to intrude on his, it didn’t go down particularly well.”

How Susan Sarandon picks her scripts

Susan Sarandon

“When I’m choosing a film, I think, ‘Can I talk about this film at a junket for four days?’

“That’s how I choose.” Susan Sarandon reveals about her script selection process.

I guess that’s one way of doing things. If she gets bored with a script, how can she sell it to other people.

Susan Sarandon talks about Brad Renfro

Susan Sarandon

Susan Sarandon is speaking out about her former The Client coworker, Brad Renfro.

She says:

“I had the pleasure of working with Brad when he was eleven in The Client. It was obvious to everyone that he was the sweetest, most incredibly gifted young actor to come along for some time. My heart goes out to the family for their tragic loss.”

The coroner has the autopsy scheduled for today to determine how Renfro died.
