Steve-O, who is currently hospitalized, is opening up on his MySpace blog about his mother’s alcoholism and his own early experience with alcohol – including claims that his parents gave it to him as a child.

The Jackass star writes “I know I was always powerless over alcoholism, because it had such a grip on Mom’s adulthood and my childhood, and I never chose to fight it.”

He outlines how during his family’s frequent travels, “before Mom and Dad would find themselves in the embarrassing position of being caught by other passengers with a crying baby, I was fed alcohol.”

Steve-O recounts his own mother’s trouble as an alcoholic, and claims she once lied to the family about having lymph node cancer as an excuse for staying in bed drunk. “I can’t believe I just called out my own dead Mom for what’s surely the worst lie she ever told,” he writes. “I also can’t believe I ever picked up my first drink on my own after the way alcohol ruined her life. God, I miss my Mom.”

Steve-O says he easily forgave his mother for any alcohol-induced bad behavior, and hopes that he can work on forgiving himself for his own shortcomings.

In an earlier blog post, he said that his own drug use did ” a great deal of damage to my brain [and] now that they’ve all worn off, I’m facing the consequences.”

Recounting some of his worst drug use in this post he writes, “I haven’t mentioned nitrous oxide, the drug I ‘fiend’ for, by far, the most. I used to inhale this gas by cartridge, specifically, by the case (a case containing 600 cartridges).

Earlier this month, Steve-O landed in the hospital on a 72-hour psychiatric hold – which he said has been extended.

Jackass‘s Steve-O, who is currently hospitalized, poured his heart out to friends in an e-mail Friday – saying that “I did a great deal of damage to my brain” with drugs and “now that they’ve all worn off, I’m facing the consequences.”

The star (real name: Stephen Glover), known for outlandish stunts and reckless behavior, revealed in stark terms how he landed in the hospital on a 72-hour psychiatric hold – which he now says has been extended another 14 days.

“I suppose it is an ironic ‘eye for an eye’ situation that I am in, coping with the lowest ‘lows’ that I’ve ever experienced – as a form of punishment for the emotional distress that I have put my loved ones through with the self-destructive behavior that led me here,” he wrote. Confirming that he is “really in the looney bin,” Steve-O writes that he initially believed that “I am an extraordinarily ‘tough’ individual [and] I could handle it, and my legacy would be comprised of only that which could be described as ‘intense.’”

But he now realizes his behavior, specifically his drug abuse – which was documented in a shocking YouTube video circulating around the Web – “was a bunch of manic bull—- that made little-to-no sense and, furthermore, was devastating to those who love me the most.”

Closing his note with a maxim he attributes to himself (“Be real careful, don’t misbehave…That’s all you gotta know to be saved…”), the reality star encourages friends to share his e-mail widely, signing off, “I love you all.”

Several friends have followed up with immediate concern. Rocker Tommy Lee wrote back to the mass e-mail chain, asking, “You ok dude!?!?!……”

Jackass star Steve-O is being held at L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after threatening to take his own life, Star has learned exclusively!

According to an insider, he was taken to the emergency room on Sunday afternoon. After drug tests, he was checked into the Thalians Mental Health Center — known for doing crisis intervention — where he was put on a 72-hour hold. That has since been extended to 14 days, Star has learned.

“Steve is stabilized on meds at this point,” the source told Star. “He was also treated for burns on his skin as if he had been putting cigarettes out on his own body.”

Friends and family have become increasingly concerned about the star’s mental state, especially following his March 3 arrest following a dispute with a neighbor. Days after, a close family member told Star that Steve-O — real name Stephen Glover — suffers from untreated bipolar disorder.

“Right now he’s in his extreme mania,” the family member said. “His concerned friends and family are hoping he’ll seek treatment. He doesn’t need jail, he needs therapy. We’re just really hoping that this will be the wake-up call that gets him back to himself.”

But the situation escalated over the weekend when Steve-O, 33, e-mailed suicide notes to several friends, blaming a broken romance. Eventually a woman friend and his bodyguard took him to the hospital around 2pm on Sunday. But he caused a major scene in the hospital, says one insider.

“Steve started flipping out. He told doctors he wanted to hurt himself badly. He wanted to break every bone in his body one by one.”

Jackass star Steve-O will be charged with the felony of possession of a controlled substance, LAPD Officer Sarah Faden tells PageSix.com.

Steve-O was arrested at 5 a.m. this morning at his apartment after a neighbor called in complaining about  vandalism at the apartment building. The 33-year-old stuntman is being held in custody at the West Hollywood LAPD station, with bail set at $20,000.

TV goofball and prankster Steve-O is embarking on a new career as a rapper and has challenged fellow hip-hop wannabe Kevin Federline to a rap battle to prove his talent. The former Jackass star has written a track attacking Britney Spears’ ex-husband for his new album Hard as a Rock.

He says that he wants to set up a lyrical battle with K-Fed, whose own rap career flopped after the release of his 2006 debut Playing With Fire.

Steve-O says, “I’m officially challenging K-Fed to a rap battle. It’ll be just like that scene from 8 Mile! I know that K-Fed has his ‘acting’ career and all, but if he’s a real man, he’ll step up and battle me!”

That’s too funny. Think K-Fed will respond? Or even battle with Steve-O?

“JACKASS” star Steve-O told Howard Stern on his radio show yesterday that Lindsay Lohan once took a bag of cocaine from him. The freaky comic, who laughed uncontrollably while saying he likes to inhale nitrous oxide from whipped cream cans, said Lohan took what he called the “Boog Suge” from him after she forgot her wallet in his bathroom and came back to his place to get it. There’s even proof she was there – Lohan had to sign a release while at Steve-O’s house for a DVD he was filming at the time.

Steve-O was kicked out of Miami club Mokai for urinating on the bar. Spies told Page Six the obnoxious comic showed up with a group of friends and was drinking for almost an hour. Then, well-forti fied, “he walked up to the bar, opened up, aimed and peed,” said one witness. “Right on the bar. Everyone was so disgusted and grossed out.” Security grabbed him and dragged him out with his pants still undone. Safe and dry on the other side of the club were Tom Brady, Maria Menounos, John Legend and Reggie Miller.
