Competing this season:

Lawrence Taylor
The former NFL star, 50, played his entire career as a linebacker for the New York Giants.

Belinda Carlisle
The singer, 50, was the lead vocalist and founding member of the 80s band The Go-Go’s.

Shawn Johnson
The 17-year-old Olympic-gold-medal-winning gymnast is the youngest DWTS competitor in the show’s history.

Denise Richards
After a contentious divorce from Charlie Sheen, the 37-year-old actress and mother of two daughters got her own reality show, Denise Richards: It’s Complicated.

Lil’ Kim
The Grammy Award winning rapper, 33, spent 10 months in jail in 2006 for lying to a federal grand jury.

Gilles Marini
The actor is best known for playing Kim Cattrall’s sexy — and predominantly naked — neighbor in 2008’s Sex and the City movie.

Steve-O
The daredevil performer, 34, showcased ridiculous stunts on MTV’s Jackass and the spinoff Wildboyz.

Steve Wozniak
Nicknamed “The Woz” by ex Kathy Griffin, the computer engineer, 58, co-founded the Apple computer company with Steve Jobs.

Chuck Wicks
The country singer is currently dating fellow crooner and two-time DWTS champion Julianne Hough. Wicks, 29, will be paired up with the professional dancer this season.

Nancy O’Dell
The entertainment journalist currently serves as the co-host of Access Hollywood with Billy Bush. O’Dell, 42, also hosted NBC’s pre-show for the 2009 Golden Globe Awards in January.

In addition to the stars, two new professional dancers will hit the stage in the show’s eighth season, including So You Think You Can Dance alum Chelsea Hightower.

The eighth season of Dancing with the Stars premieres March 9 on ABC.

Steve-O has been transferred from a rehabilitation center into a psychiatric hospital.

The troubled stuntman – real name Stephen Glover – had enrolled in a narcotics program to treat his drug addictions, but after allegedly getting clean, he has been moved to the secure mental ward at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

In an entry posted on his official website on Thursday, he writes: “I’m back in the loony bin trying to get my s**t right. I’ve now been clean for 115 days and I’m back in a mental institution.”

He adds: “I did so much cocaine, Ketamine, PCP, nitrous oxide and all sorts of other drugs that, quite simply, my brain is f**ked up.”

Glover was ordered to enter the rehab facility after being charged with cocaine possession following his March 3rd arrest on suspicion of vandalizing his neighbours’ L.A. property.

Earlier this week, it was announced the star is set for further legal troubles, after a security guard filed charges against him in relation to an alleged assault at the launch of Paris Hilton’s clothing line in August 2007.

Steve-O is facing more legal troubles – a security guard is suing him over an alleged assault at the launch of Paris Hilton’s clothing line.

Doorman Roland Cano was hired to work at the Kitson store in Los Angeles in August 2007 to provide extra security while Hilton unveiled her fashion range.

Cano has accused Steve-O – real name Stephen Glover – of attacking him when he was denied access to the event.

Glover was reportedly filming reality show Dr. Steve-O at the time and Cano has also named TV network NBC and the star’s bodyguard in the suit, which was filed at L.A. County Superior Court on Tuesday.

Cano alleges in the papers that Glover “without provocation, violently punched (his) head repeatedly” and is suing the stuntman for unspecified damages, according to TMZ.com.

Glover will soon be forced to enter rehab after entering a guilty plea to felony drug charges relating to an incident in March in which he allegedly vandalized a neighbor’s property.

Steve-O pleaded guilty to felony cocaine possession on Tuesday in a Los Angeles courthouse.

He was ordered to attend rehab for two years.

The plea is part of a deal that will keep the Jackass star, 33, out of jail.

“Steve is doing great – he has been sober for 85 days,” his lawyer, Barry Gerald Sands, tells Usmagazine.com. “His probation is set for 18 months, but it may be shorter depending on his good behavior and continuation with the program he is in.”

Sands added that Steve-O “is currently living in a sober house and has straightened up.”

Steve-O was arrested in March after feuding with a neighbor over a fence. Cops found drugs on him and booked him. He initially pleaded not guilty.

After the arrest, he checked into a UCLA center for psychiatric treatment.

In a blog post, Steve-O said his pal Johnny Knoxville “came to my home” and physically “forced me into the hospital.”

Steve-O made a brief appearance in court yesterday to enter a plea of not guilty in relation to felony drug charges.

The troubled 33-year-old – real name Stephen Glover – was charged with possession of cocaine after his March 3rd arrest on suspicion of vandalizing his neighbors’ property in Los Angeles. Just days after the incident, Steve-O checked himself into L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he received treatment following a reported suicide attempt.

But he appeared clean-cut and healthy before Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Henry J. Hall at his arraignment on Wednesday, and let his lawyer Barry Sands speak on his behalf throughout the hearing.

Steve-O is next due in court on May 13th for a preliminary hearing.

Steve-O has forfeitted his $10,000 bail after missing his court date yesterday, but he’s doing great, according to his lawyer, Barry Sands.

He says, “He’s been in the hospital for two weeks, he voluntarily checked himself in. But he will be at the the next court hearing.”

Steve-O is currently hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, which caused his absence from the arraignment on felony cocaine charges yesterday.

Steve-O, who is currently hospitalized, is opening up on his MySpace blog about his mother’s alcoholism and his own early experience with alcohol – including claims that his parents gave it to him as a child.

The Jackass star writes “I know I was always powerless over alcoholism, because it had such a grip on Mom’s adulthood and my childhood, and I never chose to fight it.”

He outlines how during his family’s frequent travels, “before Mom and Dad would find themselves in the embarrassing position of being caught by other passengers with a crying baby, I was fed alcohol.”

Steve-O recounts his own mother’s trouble as an alcoholic, and claims she once lied to the family about having lymph node cancer as an excuse for staying in bed drunk. “I can’t believe I just called out my own dead Mom for what’s surely the worst lie she ever told,” he writes. “I also can’t believe I ever picked up my first drink on my own after the way alcohol ruined her life. God, I miss my Mom.”

Steve-O says he easily forgave his mother for any alcohol-induced bad behavior, and hopes that he can work on forgiving himself for his own shortcomings.

In an earlier blog post, he said that his own drug use did ” a great deal of damage to my brain [and] now that they’ve all worn off, I’m facing the consequences.”

Recounting some of his worst drug use in this post he writes, “I haven’t mentioned nitrous oxide, the drug I ‘fiend’ for, by far, the most. I used to inhale this gas by cartridge, specifically, by the case (a case containing 600 cartridges).

Earlier this month, Steve-O landed in the hospital on a 72-hour psychiatric hold – which he said has been extended.
