Melanie Brown of the Spice Girls has a baby on the way! The woman also known as “Scary Spice” states to Hello! that she and her husband, Stephen Belafonte, are “really excited about it and ready for it.”
“Both my pregnancies have been lucky and happy and exciting, no matter what situation I’ve been in,” Brown explains. “This is different because we have been married for four years, we have a history together, we’re best friends, we’re in it together, and he’s totally supportive.”
The former Dancing With the Stars runner-up isn’t worried about putting on pregnancy pounds, either. “I like the feeling of being pregnant. I like being able to just eat something if I’m craving it,” she says. “I definitely do put on weight, but I think you’re meant to when you’re pregnant. I think it’s healthy.”
In case you didn’t know, Mel B can celebrate with fellow Spice Girls, as Emma Bunton is due this May, and Victoria Beckham is expecting a girl in July.

Melanie Brown can’t wait to see the story of her life with the Spice Girls turned into a major musical.
Music mogul Simon Fuller, who managed the band, has confirmed reports he’s developing a London stage musical based on the story behind the all-conquering girl group, comprising of Brown, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Melanie Chisholm.
He’s developing the Viva Forever! spectacular with Mamma Mia! producer Judy Craymer – and Brown hopes she won’t have to wait too long before the show hits the West End stage.
She explains, “All five of us (girls) are so excited about it, we really are. We’re in the early creative development stages just now, so I can’t really tell you much. We’ve actually teamed up with Judy Craymer, who did Mamma Mia! She’s great. And it was Simon Fuller’s idea, so he’s also a genius.”
No date has yet been set for the launch of the production, but Brown is hopeful they can put it in motion quickly: “I’d love if it was in three months to be honest.”

Melanie Chisholm is reportedly pregnant with her first child.
The singer and her partner of six years, Thomas Starr, are said to be “delighted” with the news.
Chisholm, 34, sparked rumors she was expecting last Friday after she appeared to be hiding a baby bump under a flowing dress when paparazzi caught her out and about.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, “Melanie is over the moon at the prospect of becoming a mum for the first time.”
The pop star recently revealed she was keen to start a family.
She said, “I’d really like to be a mum one day… My mum looks forward to having grandchildren.”
She’s the last of the Spice Girls to fall pregnant – Melanie Brown has two daughters, Posh Spice Victoria Beckham has three sons with soccer stud David Beckham and Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton each have one child.

The Spice Girls are unlikely to appear at a charity concert in honour of Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday, according to band member Melanie Brown.
The Girl Power group had been thought likely to appear at the Hyde Park gig along with acts such as Amy Winehouse and Leona Lewis due to having met the former South African leader at the height of the fame during the 90s.
But speaking to BBC Radio 1′s Newsbeat program, Brown said the five-piece’s lengthy world tour probably represented the last occasion they would perform together.
“I did hear about that and we’re all big fans of Nelson Mandela but I don’t think we’re going to be doing that,” she said.
“I know we all have a lot of stuff going on. I know that I’m here working probably until the end of the year. But I know I don’t have a break.”
She added: “But he’s a great guy. I can’t believe he’s 90.”
The Wannabe stars earned millions from their recent series of concerts which saw them stage a residency at London’s O2 Arena as well as performing in North America, Spain and Germany, though originally-planned shows in Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Sydney, Cape Town and Buenos Aires were cancelled due to “personal and family commitments”.
“The tour wasn’t an abrupt end at all because we only started off to do ten shows and it just escalated,” Brown explained.
“There were more and more demands from here, there and everywhere. Our tour went on pretty long considering what we actually started out for it do be. But it was brilliant. We all had so much fun. It was great.”
Petitions for a commemorative DVD of the shows have sprung up on social networking sites such as Facebook and Bebo since the end of the tour.

Melanie Chisholm has been inspired to try for a baby after spending so much time with her bandmates and their children.
The singer – who is the only Spice Girl to remain childless – is now keen to start a family with her long-term love Tom Starr because hanging out with her colleagues’ offspring on the band’s recent reunion tour has made her broody.
She says, “Being backstage at the shows with the girls and all the kids made me think, ‘Yeah I could be a good mum.’ “I used to say giving them (the children) back was the best bit, but seriously all the girls are great mums… and they have given me the confidence to have a go.” B
andmate Victoria Beckham is mother to Brooklyn, seven, Romeo, five, and Cruz, three; Melanie Brown has two daughters, Phoenix Chi, nine, and Angel Irish, one; Geri Halliwell gave birth to Bluebell Madonna in 2006; and Emma Bunton is mum to baby Beau, seven months.

Kelly Osbourne has lashed out at the Spice Girls for showing off their children onstage.
The outspoken star has offered her own parenting tips for the girls, and has said that she admires Gwyneth Paltrow’s parenting techniques, but the Spice Girls are at the bottom of her list.
She says that she respect’s Gwyneth’s parenting because she always covers her babies’ faces and never lets the paparazzi get the picture. She said that she’s not going to put the Spice Girls down, but said, “They took their kids on stage at every single show of that last tour of theirs. To be a child of three and have 25,000 girls screaming at you, I don’t think that’s necessarily good.”
You know, it’s always the ones that don’t have children that have something to say. I mean, I agree with her to a certain extent, but didn’t the kids wear earplugs at the concerts?
