The Hills may have been be put on the map by MTV, but in real life the hills near Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag’s Los Angeles-area home nearly went up in smoke.
The reality TV couple talked to Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM morning show Monday about being trapped by a fire Sunday afternoon near their home. After Montag ran to call 911, she grabbed the garden hose and the couple tried to contain the fire.

Montag recounts, “Spencer was literally down there putting out the fire and I was screaming at him ‘Come back here, the firemen are coming!!’”

“It was her and I putting out the fire with the hose,” Pratt, 24, tells Seacrest. “Until the firemen got there. They were fast.” As the firemen arrived and the fire continue to creep up on the surrounding houses, the couple was told to “get out of here” so the firefighters could do their job.

“The fire is out now,” Pratt told Seacrest Monday morning. But the situation made fiancée Montag, 21, stop and realize this wasn’t a stunt for reality TV, but rather a dose of real life. “Spencer was down there with the garden hose and I was like, oh, what have our lives come to!”

Spencer Pratt wants to be a billionaire by the time he turns 30, but is also quite content entertaining Hills viewers as reality TV’s most hated villain.

“The bottom line is I’m making people react and ultimately not think about that we are in a war in Iraq and are trying to pick leaders,” he tells the November issue of Radar magazine. “The Hills is good breath for people. I do not take it a little bit seriously. I’m an entertainer.”

What he does take seriously is his future. “I’m trying to be a billionaire before 30. Once you find an open market, that’s where you can make billions to trillions of dollars,” he says.

The 24-year-old, most famous for being Hills costar Heidi Montag’s hatable fiance also admits to political aspirations and tells the magazine that his antics are for show, but his love for Montag is the real deal.

“She is an angel, and I’m honored to be with her. People don’t even know!” he says of the 20-year-old singer. “I’m the new villain, and that’s hilarious! It’s so cool to be alive … I would be on reality TV until I am 100. It’s the coolest thing in town.”

Pratt added: “It’s so much cooler to have people come up to me and be like, ‘Spencer Pratt!’ and know my name, than to be Orlando Bloom, who’s famous for being some pirate.”

There’s NO WAY this is staged.  No way they put on a show for publicity.  I mean, they’re not the kind of people that would act all cutesy for the camera.  This here is true love…the kind that lasts forever.  They probably didn’t even know the camera was there!
