Snoop Dogg is set to release an illustrated children’s book series.

The Signs hitmaker – real name Calvin Broadus – is reportedly in the process of creating the Where’s The Cheese series of urban books.

Snoop is writing Where’s The Cheese, which will be illustrated by his cousin Joe Cool, to help city youngsters cope with the problems that can arise in their environment. The series will focus on a character called Lil Mouse and her constant quest for cheese, reports AllHipHop.com.

The website also claims an animated Where’s The Cheese TV show is in development – which may be narrated by Snoop’s daughter Cori ‘Choc’ Broadus.

Last month, Snoop announced his youth is to be turned into an animated series for America’s Comedy Central cable TV network.

Snoop Dogg ended the first season of his new reality TV show by renewing his wedding vows. The rapper insisted the ceremony he hastily arranged for the finale of Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood be kept a closely-guarded secret until the episode aired on Sunday night.

Snoop gave his management team just two days to set up a surprise vow renewal for him and his wife Shante, who thought the whole ceremony was being arranged for her husband’s best friend, the Gap Band star Charlie Wilson. Soul star Teddy Riley and rapper David Banner were among the celebrity guests at the ceremony and after-party.

Snoop recently revealed he “fell back in love with my wife and kids” after filing for divorce in 2004. He said, “A lot of times you get cloudy. The music industry is a mother, man, and it’ll take your vision and blur it. But I need my wife and kids in my life. So if you hear about a divorce, it’ll be my wife divorcing me. It won’t be me divorcing her.”

Snoop Dogg certainly has a way with children.

On Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood, the 36-year-old rapper-turned-reality star can be seen rearing and playing with sons Corde, 13, Cordell, 10, and daughter Cori, 8, and wife Shante.

So as a father of three, what advice would he give Jennifer Lopez, who welcomed fraternal twins on February 22?

“One baby at a time,” he said at the Hip-Hop Summit Action Awards. “She’s going to have a good time with it. Babies are beautiful, especially having two at one time. I wish her luck, and how her babies remain to be safe and healthy and she enjoys her time with them.”

As for his own children, Snoop says he hopes to instill one important quality in them — drive.

“Ever since I was a youngster, I was a hustler,” Snoop says. “I sold newspapers, candy, I was always out of the house trying to make money, so I commend any kid that tries to go get something in life, whether he’s trying to wash cars or pump gas or help ladies to their cars with their groceries. Any sort of hustle is what I push on a kid because it shows a sign that you want to be something in life.”

Although he’s rich and famous now, Snoop remembers growing up in Long Beach, Calif., and has great respect for kids doing what he used to to — selling candy. In fact, he always buys from them.

“I was one of those kids who sold that candy,” he says. “Instead of me buying one bar, I might give them $30 and say, ‘I don’t even want no candy’ because I understand what it takes to have that showmanship to be able to go door-to-door, hand-to-hand and say, ‘Hi ma’am, would you like to buy some candy from me?’ That takes a lot to humble yourself, to have that in you to ask somebody to buy something from you.”

What’s his best piece of advice for kids? Listen to your parents.

“They are teachers. These are people who have knowledge and wisdom and they’re trying to pass it on to you,” Snoop says. “When they give you that, even if you don’t like it or understand it – take it in for what it’s worth because one day you’ll hear that voice again and you’ll be able to make a decision. You can say ‘I’m going to do the right thing or the wrong thing, but at least I know what’s right and what’s wrong.’”

Seems like the folks at The Boot, a New Orleans bar catering to a largely collegiate clientele, are none too happy with hip-hop superstar Snoop Dogg after he ditched on a planned party there last weekend.

Snoop was in the Big Easy on Saturday to perform as part of the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities, and a huge afterparty was planned at The Boot, where he had held similar bashes in the past.

The rapper was supposed to have his DJs start spinning at The Boot around 10:30 on Saturday with Snoop himself slated to make the scene around 1am. And even though his crew came in and set up all the DJ equipment, not a single member of Snoop’s entourage showed.

“We got stood up so bad!” Boot employee Michelle says about the situation. “We charged $15 a person and the line was out the door waiting to get in.”

To atone for the debacle, the bar sent out the following e-mail to its regular patrons on Monday:

“The Boot would like to apologize for the disappointment that was this past Saturday night. As most of you know, Snoop Dogg was supposed to throw his afterparty for the NBA All-Star Weekend Slam Dunk Contest at The Boot, but never showed up. Despite the fact that this was completely out of our hands (and we were just as pissed off as you were), we want to show our appreciation for everyone who stuck around all night by offering a free 50 cent night this week.

Snoop Dogg was charged today with two felonies related to arrests last year on gun possession and marijuana charges, the District Attorney’s office of Pasadena announced.

Snoop will be arraigned at 10:00 AM tomorrow morning at Pasadena Superior Court.

Snoop was arrested on October 27 outside the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank after police found a gun and marijuana in his car. He was then arrested on November 28 outside the NBC Studios after an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Police say they found the rapper in possession of cocaine, a firearm and a large amount of marijuana. He was also cited for allegedly having a false compartment in his vehicle.

If convicted, he faces up to four years in state prison.
