I would say pretty much everyone is nervous about the prospect of Britney Spears falling apart as a judge on ‘X Factor’. Everyone, it looks like, except Simon Cowell. He is insisting that whatever happens with her will be ratings gold!

Simon was leaving ABC Kitchen in NYC last night after a dinner date with the other new “X Factor” judge Demi Lovato … when we asked the $15 million question — “Are you nervous with Britney being on live TV?”

Some people are concerned about Brit because of her ongoing mental health issues … highlighted by the fact she’s still under a conservatorship. Simon is NOT one of those people.

As for dinner with Demi — we’re guessing Simon paid … since she’s only scoring a mere $1 million for the gig … table scraps compared to Britney.

I’m really with the majority on this one, I don’t see Britney doing well at all on live TV. I think it’s going to be way too much pressure. But will I tune in and watch? Of course.

Britney Spears and Demi Lovato will be judges on the second season of “The X Factor.”

They will be joining returning judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid on the four-person judging panel. Simon confirmed the news at the FOX upfront in New York, tweeting the following message and photo above. “Can’t believe it’s finally happened. Very exciting!@TheXFactorUSA #xfactor #SimonBritneyDemiLa ”

“I’m absolutely delighted Britney and Demi are joining us,” Simon added in a press release. “Britney remains one of the biggest stars in the world, she’s talented, fascinating — and I believe she knows exactly how to spot ‘The X Factor.’  Demi’s had an amazing career in music, TV and film for someone her age. She’s young, confident, and enthusiastic. I think it’s really important that she speaks to our younger audience. The new panel will be dynamic and will work really well with the changes we are making to the show.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to join ‘The X Factor’ judging panel,” Britney said. “I’m a huge fan of the show and now I get to be a part of the action. Simon and L.A. better watch out!”

“I’m so thrilled to join this legendary group of judges on ‘The X Factor,’” Demi added. “To be able to spend each week with Simon, L.A. and Britney watching the best that America has to offer is truly a dream come true.”

Season 2 of “The X Factor” might be more intriguing than the first!

Britney Spears is in talks to fill an empty X Factor judge’s seat- and Simon Cowell couldn’t be happier!  The pop star received a $10 million offer to join the second season of Fox’s singing competition.  Producers decided to replace first season X factor judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger,  because the two didn’t have the star power the show was looking for.

Well, folks, Britney’s certainly got star power! And after this weekend,  Deadline Hollywood reports,  the show and Britney’s reps are this much closer to having her appear.

The X Factor’s Simon Cowell got huge suprise when he came home to his West London mansion this past Saturday.

The 52 year old reality TV mogul found a woman in his home.  She broke in and was armed with a brick.  She was  going from room to room, lying on his bed, and just checking the place out.

“The woman who was in his house clearly has some sort of mental problems,” a source tells Us Weekly of Cowell’s intruder, later identified as Leanne Zaloumis, 29, of Catford, South East London. “She roamed around the house, lied in his bed, [and went] through his bathroom.”

Charged with one count of aggravated burglary, Zaloumis appeared before West London Magistrates’ Court Monday. During the eight-minute hearing, it was revealed that Zaloumis intended to “inflict grievous bodily harm upon a person therein and at the time of committing the said burglary had with [her] a weapon of offense, namely a broken house brick.”

“It’s been quite surreal, and frightening, but I was lucky that I didn’t get hurt and nothing bad happened,” Cowell told a friend after the incident, vowing to reevaluate his home’s security settings.

“I don’t want something like this to happen again, because it could have been much worse a weapon than a brick,” said Cowell. “It could have been a gun.”

Wow!  There are some crazy celebrity stalkers out there.  Luckily Simon was unharmed.

First rumors spread that ‘The X Factor’ host Steve Jones would soon be out of a job. Then the tweet came in, he wrote: “I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame but I cant complain as I’ve had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show.”

Back in December 2011, news of Jones’ demise was a little premature, and his reps shot down the rumors immediately. But they surfaced again at the Television Critics Association press tour earlier in January 2012, when Kevin Reilly, head of Fox Entertainment, said, “Whether Steve’s the guy or not, it comes under the heading of growth in general, so there will be some tweaks to the show.” Reilly then added, “Hosting, as we know, it is a much harder job than meets the eye. I think everybody now has come to realize the value of Ryan Seacrest.”

Earlier on Monday, Jones’ now-former boss Simon Cowell was quoted in London’s Daily Mirror saying: “I don’t think he did a bad job but, like ‘America’s Got Talent,’ there is a Brit limit on the show.” A few hours later, Jones’ tweet made it official.

And now E! is reporting that Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul will not be returning as judges for the second season.

“She wants to focus on her music career,” their source said of Nicole. “She’s spoken to Simon [Cowell] and he’s given her his blessing … ‘X Factor’ took a lot more of her time than she ever expected. She didn’t have any time really to work on her music. She was doing ‘X Factor’ six days a week.”

Sources also confirmed to E! that judge Paula Abdul will also not be returning to “The X Factor,” leaving Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid as the only original members of the judging panel for Season 2. “She found out today,” a show source told E! Online.

Newly appointed American Idol judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez took their seats at the judges table for the first time as auditions began yesterday. The only original judge left, Randy Jackson, nabbed the coveted seat once held (for nine seasons) by Simon Cowell.
