Reality star Khloe Kardashian – who served 173 minutes in jail last week for a 2007 DUI charge – has some advice for actor Shia LaBeouf, who was arrested for DUI after getting into a car accident on Sunday.

“Just be smarter,” she told Usmagazine.com at the Annual Style L.A. Runway show benefitting the Facial Paralysis Foundation & Stop the Violence/Face the Music benefit, which she co-hosted with sisters Kim and Kourtney at the The Viceroy Hotel, Santa Monica, CA on Monday.

“Think about your actions and get a driver!” the 24-year-old counseled. “It’s so much cheaper in the long run!”

LaBeouf, 22, was arrested early Sunday morning following a night of boozing at West Hollywood’s Troubadour club. His 23-year-old Transformers co-star Isabel Lucas was a passenger in his truck when the accident occurred. LaBeouf required extensive hand surgery but police determined he was not at fault for the accident.

Khloe’s jail stint was short but dramatic.

“As soon as I got to Lynwood, there were three bomb threats, and so they put me in solitary confinement,” she told Ryan Seacrest on Monday. “They released me early because I was a threat to the prison.”

She pledged to “never” drink and drive again.

A new twist in the Shia LaBeouf story! Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore tells ET the other driver involved in the accident blew a red light and Shia did not cause the accident.

The other party will be cited in the accident, which occurred early Sunday in Hollywood, the Sheriff’s spokesman said. Shia was arrested after the crash on suspicion of drunk driving.

Before his weekend DUI arrest, Shia LaBeouf opened up about his struggles with alcohol in Details’ September issue (out August 12).

The most shocking revelation: LaBeouf, 22, and his father, a former heroin addict, “would drink together and smoke together,” the actor told the magazine, “and it’s just a bad deal.

“It’s not something that is conducive to being a role model — no iconic actors that I know of have problems like that,” LaBeouf added. “And I don’t know how to do it like a gentleman. I don’t know how to have one drink.”

He also opened up about a drunken spat he had in a Chicago Walgreens last November. (He was charged with criminal trespassing; it was later dropped.)

“It was two hotheads,” LaBeouf said of the incident. “One completely in the wrong, one who wasn’t enjoying his job that night, going at it about minuscule bulls–t.”

The Details interview surfaces days after the actor’s DUI arrest early Sunday morning following a night of boozing at West Hollywood’s Troubadour club.

LaBeouf’s 23-year-old Transformers co-star Isabel Lucas was a passenger in his truck when the accident occurred, sources tell Usmagazine.com.

She was not seriously injured, but LaBeouf’s rep said the the actor is “currently recovering from extensive hand surgery with plans to return to work on the set of Transformers 2 within one month.”

LaBeouf’s mom told Us Monday: “He is doing really well.”

Shia LaBeouf’s starstruck crash victim urged the actor to flee the scene of his Sunday morning car crash.

Brian Perrulli, one of the first bystanders on the scene when LaBeouf’s truck was overturned following the incident, says everyone realised the actor was badly hurt and had been drinking, and the other motorist suggested the star should make a run for it.

The eyewitness says, “The other guy was saying, `Maybe you should go, maybe you should get outta here,’ and he (LaBeouf) said, ‘No, I’ve gotta deal with this… It’s my problem.’”

LaBeouf was later booked and cited for misdemeanor drink driving. He also endured “extensive surgery” for a bad hand injury he picked up in the crash.

Meanwhile, the actor’s passenger at the time of the crash has been identified as his Transformers 2 co-star Isabel Lucas.

The two pals had just left the Troubadour club after checking out new band the Lemon Son.

Shia LaBeouf’s mother wants the world to know: The kid is all right.

In recovery, but all right.

Shayna LaBeouf told E! News that her 22-year-old action-star son remains at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after undergoing “extensive hand surgery” in the wake of his truck-flipping, DUI-inurring car crash.

“I’m at the hospital right now, he’s doing fine,” said Shayna, who has been keeping watch over her son since his wreck in the wee hours of Sunday.

Though she declined to speak specifically to his condition, the extremely emotional mother thanked the public for their concern over her son’s well-being.

“Thank you, thank you,” she said on the verge of tears.

While Shayna isn’t talking about her son’s state, LaBeouf’s rep did, confirming Sunday afternoon that the Indiana Jones and Transformers star sustained injuries to his head, knee and, most severely of all, left hand.

LaBeouf is expected to be MIA from the Transformers 2 set for roughly one month while he recovers from the surgery.

The actor is due in court next month to face a misdemeanor DUI charge resulting from the accident.

Shia LaBeouf, who was arrested for drunk driving Sunday after being involved in a car accident in Hollywood, is recovering from surgery, his rep said in a statement.

“Attorneys for Mr. LaBeouf confirm that an automobile accident involving an additional party occurred early morning in Los Angeles on July 27, 2008,” said Melissa Kates in the statement issued Sunday evening. “Shia is currently recovering from extensive hand surgery with plans to return to work on the set of Transformers 2 within one month. No further comment will be issued at this time. ”

LaBeouf, 22, was driving in Hollywood when his car was involved in a collision around 3 a.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. S. Wolf told the Associated Press.

He was treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for injuries he sustained to his head, left hand and knee, according to police. The female passenger riding with LaBeouf and the driver of the other car involved in the crash were not seriously hurt.
