Shania Twain had a fall last night as she walked out to the stage at the 2011 CMT Music Awards!

The Vegas-bound singer laughed off the incident (as the audience supported her with cheers) and went on to present the Male Video of the Year Award to Blake Shelton, who wasn’t there.

The always gracious ountry star Shania Twain has recently opened up about the devastating effects of her 2008 divorce that have left her feeling more empowered than ever before. She described the dissolution of her 14-year relationship to Robert Lange when she spoke with Oprah Winfrey about his affair with her assistant and very close friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud.

“I didn’t want to live.”

The 45-year-old singer now takes the break-up as “a very positive thing,” saying it was the wake-up call she needed.

Though Robert and Marie-Anne have yet to admit to any infidelity, she confessed that she once wrote Marie-Anne, asking her:

“Why are you torturing me? Let it go, please…find love somewhere else from someone else.”

That’s so heartbreaking! She further explained her current feelings about writing the letter, stating:

“I know it was pathetic, but we all have pathetic moments. No one is above this type of low.”

She concluded:

“I’ve trapped my own voice, and now I’ve got to unwipe all that. I really can’t imagine not singing again.”

I’m happy she can see the positivity in such a horrible time in her life. Inspiring! Shania is currently married to Marie-Anne’s ex-husband, Frédéric. The two turning to each other for support and comfort when they found out their partners were together.

Country superstar Shania Twain is juggling a lot in her life right now. The 45-year-old singer is not only a newlywed, but a soon-to-be reality star as well, as she readies for her docu-series, Why Not? With Shania Twain, which airs on May 8 on Oprah’s new OWN Network.

She’s recently been had much media attention regarding her struggle and/or inability to conceive, to which she tells People is “absolutely not true.”

Shania, mother to 9-year-old Eja, wed husband Frédéric Thiébaud on New Years Day and previously stated before her wedding:

“I’m feeling refreshed and optimistic about the future. I’m looking forward to what the new year has in store.”

Shania Twain is now officially engaged to Frederic Thiebaud!

In an ironic twist of fate, the Swiss-born Nestle executive Thiebaud, 40, is the ex-husband of Twain’s former best friend Marie-Anne Thiebaud. Marie-Anne is woman Robert “Mutt” Lange, left her for in May 2008. Mutt and Shania were married for 14 years.

Twain, 45, and Frederic developed a bond after their spouses left them for each other and a passionate romance began.

On Tuesday Shania confirmed that she and Thiebaud were engaged by issuing an open letter to her fans.

Here is what she wrote.

The people who make my life the most joyful are the ones I am able to lean on because of my own humanness. In the last two and a half years of adjusting to life after separation and divorce, I needed to lean on others more often than I was accustomed to. These people have been gifts, and I am fortunate to have so many of these beautiful people – friends, family and beloved fans, who’s support I cherish more deeply with each day that passes. Looks like they made it! Country superstar Shania Twain is engaged to Frederic Thiebaud, her rep confirms exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly, out Tuesday.

Twain, 45, stepped out with Thiebaud, 40, for a PDA-packed lunch at Serafina’s Fabulous Grill in NYC on Thursday with an enormous engagement ring.

“I’ve never seen Shania so happy,” a pal tells Us of the singer. Swiss-born Thiebaud, a Nestle business executive, popped the question about two months ago in Switzerland.

The couple’s road to matrimony was an exceptionally complicated one. Thiebaud is the ex-husband of Twain’s former best friend Marie-Anne Thiebaud — the woman Robert “Mutt” Lange, Twain’s husband of 14 years, abruptly left her for in May 2008. (Both Lange and Marie-Anne denied the affair.)

Twain and Frederic reached out to one another in the wake of the stunning double betrayal, and were spotted vacationing together in Canada, New York City and Florida.

Finally, in August 2009, Twain — who has a 9-year-old son, Eja, with Lange — came clean about their new romance.

Writing on her official website, she called Frederic “a dear friend and true gentleman…We leaned on one another through the ups and downs, taking turns holding each other up. We’ve become stronger and closer through it all.”

Adds the Twain pal: “She has ended up with the love of her life.”

Rumor has it, now that Jennifer Lopez has officially dropped the American Idol ball, country singer Shania Twain might just be picking it up!

TMZ reports that Shania is a shoe-in for the short list if J-Lo’s booty demands get in the way of her judging the talent competition:

“American Idol” sources tell TMZ … the Jennifer Lopez deal isn’t dead yet, but if it does flatline … “Idol’s” next choice is country star Shania Twain.

Shania was a hit on “Idol” this past season when she served as guest judge and mentor.

We’re told Shania is Plan B.

Country-music star Shania Twain says doing a reality show on Oprah Winfrey’s new cable network is another step toward embracing life as she continues to recover from heartache.

“I feel like in a way I’m starting over, with everything,” Twain, 44, told Winfrey in an interview at an event in New York on Thursday. “This is a very personal experience that I think is important to share. This is an experience of recovery. I was in a very deep, dark slump, and I needed to find a way to get myself out of it. I had to force myself back out into life, back out into experiencing things.”

Twain’s marriage of 14 years to Robert “Mutt” Lange collapsed in May 2008 due to Lange’s relationship with Twain’s longtime friend and assistant, Marie-Anne Thiébaud. In the months that followed, Twain said, there were times when she had no passion or interest in anything.

“There were moments when I really just thought, I don’t need anything and I don’t need anyone,” she said. “I just want to go away and disappear. So, that was a bad slump.”

Twain’s upcoming show, Why Not? With Shania Twain, follows her life as she emerges from that slump. Its very title is a reference to the first step she took in her recovery.

“One day, someone said to me, ‘Do you want to go jump out of an airplane?’ ” she said. “I felt like I had nothing to lose anymore, so I said, ‘Why not?’ And every day since then, I ask myself that question.”

Twain, who has a son Eja, 8, and is now dating Thiébaud’s ex-husband Frédéric, emphasized that she is still in the process of healing. “There’s a lot of recovery to accomplish,” she said. “I’m not there yet. I’m on my way there. I’m not sure I’ll ever be there.”

Winfrey interviewed Twain during a so-called “upfront” presentation in New York introducing OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network to advertisers.
