Are Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn reconciling again?
The Oscar-winning actor filed a request Tuesday to dismiss his legal separation case, Marin County, Calif., court records show.
“This appears to imply that they’re reconciling again,” says L.A. divorce lawyer Lynn Soodik, who is not involved with the case. “It’s unlikely Sean Penn would request a dismissal for any other reason.”
This is the second time the actor has rescinded divorce papers. Penn, 48, and Wright Penn, 43, started divorce proceedings in December 2007 after 11 years of marriage.
But they put the brakes on their divorce action four months later, in April 2008, when a court clerk dismissed the divorce petition at their request.
A lawyer for Sean Penn didn’t immediately return a call for comment. Wright Penn has been at the Cannes Film Festival, where she’s a member of the jury, since last week. She attended the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS benefit on May 21.

Sean Penn has filed for “legal separation with minor children” from his wife of 13 years, actress Robin Wright Penn.
He filed the papers last Friday, Extra first reported.
Penn, 48, initially filed for divorce in December 2007, but his petition was later dismissed. Three days later, Wright Penn, 43, filed her own paperwork.
But in April 2008, the couple’s divorce petition was dismissed at their request.
They attended February’s Academy Awards, where Penn won his second Best Actor Oscar for his role as gay rights activist Harvey Milk.
He did not thank Wright Penn — with whom he has two children, Dylan, 18, and Hopper Jack, 15 — while accepting his award.
After the show, he told Oprah Winfrey that his gratitude for his wife was “implicit.”
“I wanted to keep things focused on the professional team around this movie,” he explained. “Because with Robin comes my mother and my son and my daughter, and half of them will punish me if I mention them.”

I can see Jim Carrey, but Sean Penn? Seems weird to me!
Sean Penn has signed on to star in the upcoming film, The Three Stooges, playing Larry. Jim Carrey is in negotiations to play Curly and Benicio del Toro is possibly being considered to play the trio’s slap-stick leader, Moe, Hollywood Reporter reports.
The film — which will not be a biopic but a fictional treatment that will be updated for modern audiences — has been an ongoing project of the Farrelly brothers and MGM for years.
Peter and Bobby Farrelly — who have been behind such films as Dumb & Dumber, There’s Something About Mary and The Heartbreak Kid — wrote the original script, which was at one point structured similarly to the Stooges’ classic short films by featuring a story that would’ve spanned over three installments of roughly 30 minutes each. They have since streamlined it into a single narrative.
“When the economy started turning, we felt like the world could use a Stooges slapfest,” Peter said last year. “Bobby and I haven’t done a real physical comedy in a while, and it’s the most exciting thing we could think of now, to have people go to the movie, see some great slapstick fun family humor.”
MGM plans to start production in the fall for a 2010 release slot.

According to Star Natalie Portman and Sean Penn were caught making out in the Sunset Tower Hotel when coming out of a bank of elevators that lead to exclusive rooms.
“There’s a door outside of the hotel’s Tower Bar that has a bridge to the terrace, so it’s semi-private,” the eyewitness explains. “I used that path to get to the restroom, and when I came back, I had to go through some curtains — and that’s when I interrupted Sean and Natalie! When they saw me, they were startled and quickly composed themselves.”

I have to start out by admitting that I never actually made it to see Milk. I’m sure it’s amazing, and I’m sure Sean Penn deserved it. But did he deserve it over Mickey Rourke? Mickey Rourke gave the performance of a lifetime! How could he have lost!!
Were you shocked with any of the awards? I have to admit, I was surprised that Penelope Cruz got it…I sort of thought Marisa Tomei would get it.
PS: Wasn’t the Oscars amazing this year? I loved the whole thing! I thought Hugh Jackman did an amazing job! What did you think?
