NEW TRAILER! Brad Pitt & Sean Penn in ‘Tree of Life’

Cannot wait!! I love Brad Pitt and Sean Penn! This is a beautiful trailer for the new film, ‘Tree of Life’ from Terrence Malick.

“At the end of the 1960’s in Texas, Jack O’Brien (Sean Penn), the the eldest of three brothers, just lost his younger brother. And he remembers his childhood. The Tree of life traces the evolution of an eleven-year-old boy in the Midwest. At first all seems marvelous to the child. He sees as his mother (Jessica Chastain)does, with the eyes of his soul. She represents the way of love and mercy, where the father (Brad Pitt) tries to teach his son the world’s way, of putting oneself first. Each parent contends for his allegiance, and Jack must reconcile their claims. The picture darkens as he has his first glimpses of sickness, suffering and death. The world, once a thing of glory, becomes a labyrinth.

Framing this story is that of adult Jack, a lost soul in a modern world, seeking to discover amid the changing scenes of time that which does not change: the eternal scheme of which we are a part. When he sees all that has gone into our world’s preparation, each thing appears a miracle — precious, incomparable. Jack, with his new understanding, is able to forgive his father and take his first steps on the path of life.”

The film will be released on May 27, 2011.

Sean Penn’s never looked better!

Sean Penn sports a wig and makeup to portray a retired rock star as he films “This Must Be the Place” in the Diamond District.

Having been estranged for over 30 years, it is only now in death that he learns the true extent of his father’s humiliation in Auschwitz at the hands of former SS Officer Aloise Muller – an event he is determined to avenge. So begins a life-altering journey across the heartland of America to track down and confront his father’s nemesis. As his quest unfolds, Cheyenne is reawakened by the people he encounters and his journey is transformed into one of reconciliation and self discovery. As his date with destiny arrives and he tracks down Muller, Cheyenne must finally decide if it is redemption he seeks ….or revenge.

Wyclef Jean calls Sean Penn out as a cocaine user!

The war of words between Wyclef Jean and Sean Penn continues! After Sean’s public doubts of Wyclef’s presidential bid in Haiti, Wyclef is fighting back – alleging Penn was “too busy sniffing cocaine” to notice Jean’s presence in Haiti after an earthquake devastated the nation in January.

The insult came during a concert performance this weekend where Wyclef changed the lyrics to his 2004 hit ‘President,’ singing: “I got a message for Sean Penn: Maybe he ain’t see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine.”

When Wyclef announced that he intended on running for president in Haiti, Penn quickly cast his doubt on CNN’s Larry King. “I have to say I’m very suspicious of it, simply because he, as an ambassador at large, has been virtually silent. For those of us in Haiti, he has been a non-presence.”

Sean Penn’s rep quickly wrote a vehement denial of cocaine use, telling JustJared:

“Mr. Jean is clearly unfamiliar with the physical demands put upon volunteers in Haiti. As aid workers there, the notion of depleting the body’s immune system thru the use of illicit drugs is ludicrous. More specifically, J/P Haitian Relief Organization (a.k.a. JPHRO) has a ZERO tolerance policy for any and all illegal drugs. As the leader of this organization, Sean Penn has not only set this policy, but adheres to it. That Mr. Jean would make such a false accusation is reckless and saddening, but not surprising.”

Jean was disqualified from the presidential running when he did not meet Haitian residency requirements.

Sean Penn said he questioned Wyclef Jean’s motives

Hip-hop artist Wyclef Jean says he has submitted the necessary paperwork to run for president of Haiti, a country he left when he was a child.

“Now that our country has toppled, it’s a chance to rebuild from the bottom on up,” Jean said, adding he will be the voice of Haiti’s youth.

Jean’s announcement quickly became a top topic on the internet, with many debating whether the music star best known for rapping, playing the guitar and dancing, could actually lead a country.

One outspoken critic was actor Sean Penn, who has lived in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, for months to help manage 50,000 displaced Haitians living in a camp.

Penn said he questioned Wyclef Jean’s motives.

“What the Haitian people need now is a leader who is genuinely willing to sacrifice,” Penn said. “I haven’t seen or heard anything of him in these last six months that I’ve been in Haiti. I think he’s an important voice. I hope he doesn’t sacrifice that voice by taking the eye off the very devastating realities on the ground.”

Penn mentioned past allegations that Jean mishandled funds from his nonprofit organization Yele Haiti and used some of the money donated for Haitians.

“He claims he didn’t do it. That has to be looked into it,” Penn said. “I’ve been there. I know what $400,000 could do for these people’s lives.”

At the time, Jean tearfully denied the allegations that he misappropriated funds from his Yele Haiti charity and experts on nonprofits said they couldn’t find serious wrongdoing.

Sean Penn has been made a knight in Haiti

Sean Penn has been made a knight in Haiti after all of his efforts to save the place after the earthquake hit earlier this year, six months ago.

Sean has regularly visited the place and has been a major part of the recovery effort. He has helped setup relief camps for millions of displaced Haitians who are still homeless.

According to Contact Music:

He was among 23 honorees, including former U.S. president Bill Clinton and CNN reporter Anderson Cooper, lauded on the site of the presidential palace in Haiti’s capital of Port-Au-Prince on Monday. They were ‘knighted’ and presented with medals and certificates by President Rene Preval.

The award ceremony took place exactly six months on from the earthquake, which struck the nation on 12 January.

Kudos to him!!

Sean Penn Gets Probation for Kicking Photographer

Sean Penn pleaded no contest to vandalism on Wednesday, effectively ending a case in which the Oscar-winning actor was videotaped kicking a celebrity photographer. Penn was not present in court and entered the plea through his attorney. He was sentenced to three years of informal probation and ordered to perform 300 hours of community service, said city attorney’s spokesman Frank Mateljan.

Mateljan says those hours can be completed through Penn’s earthquake-relief efforts in Haiti.

He was also ordered to undergo 36 hours of anger management counseling and stay 100 yards away from the photographer.
