Sean Combs is playing down reports he was held at gunpoint by a Los Angeles police officer on Saturday, insisting he wasn’t in a car stopped by cops.
Reports suggested the rap mogul was pulled over during a routine traffic stop in the early hours of Saturday morning on the city’s Sunset Boulevard. The vehicle was flagged down by police because it did not have the proper registration plate details.
An officer allegedly pulled a gun on Diddy when the star and his entourage approached him as he took down details and reported the traffic stop.
But a spokesperson for the rapper insists just one car in a seven-vehicle fleet was pulled over - and Diddy wasn’t in it.
She says, “Sean’s car did not get pulled over. No gun was pulled directly at him. One of the cars travelling in a seven-car entourage was pulled over for not having proper tags. The driver was not issued a ticket because the car was a rental vehicle.”

A cop pulled a gun on rap mogul Sean (Diddy) Combs during a routine traffic stop in Los Angeles, authorities said Sunday.
A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy briefly brandished his weapon at Combs on the Sunset Strip after cops pulled over a car driven by a member of his entourage.
“A deputy pulled his firearm, fearing for his safety,” said a sheriff’s department spokesman. “The situation was deflated as quickly as it began.”
Combs spokeswoman Keesha Johnson said the cop did not pull the gun directly on the rapper, and stressed that the officers were “really respectful.”
The trouble started when a member of Combs’ entourage was stopped at 3:15a.m. Saturday after cops noticed the rental car he was driving didn’t have proper tags.
The deputy called for backup after two cars stopped nearby as the deputy searched the vehicle, police said. One member of the group was detained when he became uncooperative, prompting six or seven others - including Combs - to advance toward the deputy, a source said.
The driver was not issued a ticket because the car was a rental, and nobody was hurt in the incident, police said.
Combs’ television series “I Want to Work for Diddy” premiered on VH1 last week.

Forget track and field.
If Diddy were in the Olympics, what sport would he win a gold medal in?
“Who could have sex the longest,” he tells New York magazine. “I think that’s an event I can do well in. And probably who could stay up the longest.”
He adds, “Just so you know, that’s supposed to be funny. Even though I am serious.”
Who would he compete against?
He tells the magazine: “Whoever’s up for the challenge.”

Diddy recently denied reports that he got engaged to R&B singer Cassie.
He welcomed twin girls with ex Kim Porter in 2006.

Jennifer Lopez will not be forced to testify in a lawsuit filed against her ex Sean Combs over his involvement in a 1999 New York club shooting.
The singer/actress was dating the hip-hop mogul at the time of the incident, and was present at the now-defunct Club New York when shots were fired in the venue on December 27, 1999, injuring two people.
Combs’ rap protege Shyne, real name Jamal Barrow, is currently serving a 10-year jail term after he was found guilty of assault, reckless endangerment and gun possession in the trial following the shooting.
The rap heavyweight was arrested for various charges including weapons violations, but was acquitted of all counts.
Combs and Shyne are currently fighting a $130 million civil suit filed by victim Natania Reuben, who was shot in the face during the incident.
Lopez - who was not called as a witness in the 2001 criminal trial - was subpoenaed by Reuben’s attorneys in June, and was due to give her deposition on Tuesday.
But according to website TMZ.com, Lopez had “nothing to contribute” to the case, and her deposition was cancelled indefinitely - news which has been confirmed by Reuben’s lawyer.
The Latina split from Combs shortly after the shooting trial.
