Scott Weiland’s new book, ‘Not Dead & Not for Sale’, features some horrible stories from the singer’s childhood.

According to Spin, the troubled Stone Temple Pilots frontman reveals in his new memoir that he was raped when was 12 years old.

In the excerpt, Weiland recounts that the rapist was a “big muscular guy, a high school senior… [who] rode the bus with me every day to school … [He] invited me to his house. The dude raped me. It was quick, not pleasant. I was too scared to tell anyone. ‘Tell anyone,’ he warned, ‘and you’ll never have another friend in this school. I’ll ruin your f****n’ reputation.’”

The incident was so painful that Weiland admits he didn’t confront it until recently.

“This is a memory I suppressed until only a few years ago when, in rehab, it came flooding back,” he writes. “Therapy will do that to you.”

Slash will resume his search for Scott Weiland’s replacement in Velvet Revolver once he completes his solo tour.

The group, founded by the guitarist and his former Guns N’ Roses bandmate Duff MCKagan, has been auditioning singers since firing Weiland in April 2008.

Slash’s planned solo tour this summer prompted fears among the supergroup’s fans Velvet Revolver would never play again.

However, the rocker insists he’s waiting for his schedule to line up with McKagan’s – who is rumored to have stepped in to replace Jane’s Addiction bassist Eric Avery during the band’s hiatus.

Slash tells RollingStone.com, “I think Duff is doing something with Jane’s Addiction right now so we’re all sort of all over the place doing whatever until we can all regroup. We did listen to a lot of singers, but there hasn’t been anybody that’s going to be the guy so far.”

But he insists Velvet Revolver’s next vocalist will be someone who isn’t as famous as Stone Temple Pilots star Weiland.

Slash adds, “It’s really hard to do something with a voice that’s already really well known in an original band. We want someone who is really good that hasn’t been recognised by the whole country as being amazing, but somebody who is just on the precipice of just being discovered.”

Stone Temple Pilots’s frontman Scott Weiland has experienced a mild seizure on a commercial flight that resulted in the plane having to make an emergency landing at Dallas Fort Worth airport.

Flying from Los Angeles to Miami, flight staff had to call for medical assistance over the loud speaker and oxygen was administered onboard, reports Rolling Stone.

Flying with his Scott Weiland Band, the singer had reportedly come round and was in good spirits as he was taken to hospital.

Weiland – who recently finished a string of North American dates with Stone Temple Pilots – was travelling to Miami for a performance and to launch his clothing line Weiland for English Laundry at the club Mansion.

A representative who was flying with Weiland, told Rolling Stone that the singer has a history of seizures, but is now “Doing great” and expects to appear at the club in Miami as scheduled.

Stone Temple Pilots left fans in Florida fuming on Friday night after reportedly failing to show up for a concert.

The band claimed the gig at Tampa Bay’s Ford Amphitheater was affected by storms striking the state. But many of the 6,500 fans packed into the venue claim the storms never came close to Tampa Bay, and reveal they were told by organizers that the rockers didn’t arrive to perform.

One disappointed concertgoer tells Blabbermouth.net, “The storms they were attempting to lay blame on were in North Florida and were not impacting Central Florida or South Florida where they had played in Hollywood, Florida two days prior. They did cancel a show in Orlando on Tuesday evening which I completely understood and people were informed ahead of time due a tropical storm in the area.”

The incident comes amid rumors frontman Scott Weiland – who only reunited with the band in April – is losing his longterm battle with drug addiction.

Fans claim he appeared incoherent and stumbled onstage during a performance in Phoenix, Arizona on July 30th.

The group split in the 1990s because of Weiland’s heroin addiction; and he spent time in rehab earlier this year, before being fired from supergroup Velvet Revolver after rowing with bandmates.

Scott Weiland has begun his eight-day jail sentence after pleading guilty to drink driving charges.

Reports suggest the singer checked himself into a California jail yesterday.

Weiland was given until May 28th to complete 192 hours behind bars, but the rocker chose to start his jail time early so he could tour with the newly-reformed Stone Temple Pilots from May 17th.

The singer pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol with a prior conviction last month.

He checked in at 8:55 a.m. and was released at 6:54 p.m., last night.

Scott Weiland has just been sentenced to 192 hours in county jail for his November DUI arrest. This is Weiland’s second DUI offense. He has until May 28 to serve the sentence.

Scott, who was not present in court today, entered a no contest plea through his attorney, Anthony Brooklier. The former Velvet Revolver singer was also ordered to complete an 18-month alcohol program and pay almost $2,000 in fines. He will be put on a four-year summary probation.

Weiland was charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol with a prior conviction, and with an allegation that he refused a chemical test as required by law. We are told he was over the legal limit of .08%, but not by much.

According to the police report, he failed the field sobriety tests and refused to take a blood or urine test. He was booked for DUI and released on $40,000 bail.
