Scott Baio Gets Death Threats on Twitter After Posting Michelle Obama Joke

Scott Baio has caused a stir on Twitter.

After the former Charles in Charge star, 48, posted an unflattering photo of Michelle Obama on his Twitter page, he was bombarded with angry replies from fans and enemies alike.

Check out (flattering!) photos of Michelle Obama’s style

Some called the actor — who has often used his Twitter page to speak out about his Republican beliefs — an “asshole” and many said his post was racist.

Baio, however, insisted the post was just a joke and shared screenshots of several death threats he received.

“Easy to find your house Scottie boy and finish you,” one commenter wrote while another threatened to harm his wife and family.

Below, take a look at the drama as it unfolded from start to finish — and caused his followers to skyrocket to nearly 5,000 people — on Baio’s Twitter page:

-WOW He wakes up to this every morning. [He included a link to the Obama photo.]

-If YOU are born in AMERICA, U ARE AN AMERICAN. I don’t insist on being called Italian-American. Therefore Black Amer are not Afr-Amer.

-Or that would mean people (white or black) born in Africa would be called African-Africans….. Just a thought to think about.

-P.S. @bradmantv THIS is what YOU call “having my back” go ahead, go live & defend that my frd. Apologize LIVE then we can talk.

Scott Baio talks about his baby’s health scare

Scott Baio

Scott Baio went from confirmed bachelor to doting dad last November when his daughter Bailey DeLuca was born, telling People, “I’ve loved my life. My life has been great, but this [fatherhood] makes it.”

Then, just one day after his baby girl came home from the hospital, Baio, 47, and his then-fiancée Renee Sloan, 39, were hit with shocking news – Bailey had tested positive for a potentially fatal disorder, according to the couple’s account on Celebrity Baby Blog.

“[I could] hear it in her voice,” Renee said of a call from the pediatrician for them to bring Bailey to the hospital for more tests. After some tests showed the premature baby might have GA-1, a metabolic disorder that can cause seizures and leads to coma and even death, the couple were torn apart with worry. “It was the worst time in my life,” Baio admitted.

“Every breath that you take, every thought that you have, every moment that you’re conscious, it’s all you’re thinking about,” Baio told CBB. “The disease is a constant in your brain. It never leaves you.”

The couple married in December, showing no signs that Bailey, who was at the ceremony, might be sick. But, “every time [Scott] would see a child, see a baby, he would just break down,” said Renee. “It was so tough to go through the holidays, our wedding … all the while knowing, our kid may die.”

Testing took 10 weeks, and when doctors told the couple Bailey was completely healthy and in the clear – the result had been a false positive – “we jumped through the ceiling,” Baio said.

Now 7-months old, Bailey is healthy but her parents have a thankful outlook and want to use their experience to help others.

“In a way I’m glad I went through it. Because this sort of thing puts everything else in perspective,” Baio said, adding of the foundation they are establishing, “We know we need to be a voice here, and that’s what we’re trying to do.

Scott Baio opens up about losing a daughter.

How sad!

ET sat down with Scott Baio and his wife Renee Sloan earlier this week, in an interview to air today, Thursday, January 10th.

The couple welcomed a baby girl in December, but revealed to ET that they were originally expecting twins. Baio recalls the day he found out, “She told me, ‘we’re having twins,’ and I went down on the floor.” He says the news came at an emotional time, just after he learned that his father had passed away, “I was emotionally shot.”

Baio recalled the night the couple lost one of the babies, “We were lying in bed and there was a problem so we rush to the hospital and the doctor looks at her and says, ‘I’m sorry, you’re miscarrying.’ Last year was a rough, very rough year.” Sloan adds, “I was on bed rest for nine weeks trying to keep the other baby, then we had her five weeks early. It was an emotional rollercoaster.”

Scott Baio is 46 & no longer single

Scott Baio has married his longtime girlfriend Renee Sloan in a ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday. The small religious ceremony took place on the rooftop of a luxury high-rise building, with guests including Sloan’s 18-year-old daughter Kalyn – from a previous relationship – and the couple’s newborn baby girl, who was delivered last month.

The 46-year-old actor has been dating model-turned-actress Sloan, 45, since 2005 and agreed to have the wedding filmed for the second season of his reality TV show – Scott Baio is 45… And Single – which premieres in the U.S. next month.

Congrats to the happy couple! I always loved Happy Days!
