Scarlett Johansson has hit back at claims her close friendship with acclaimed director Woody Allen sent producers scrambling to manage her diva-like behavior on the set of new movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
Johansson, 23, has been touted as the Hollywood director’s latest inspiration since the pair teamed up for 2005 film Match Point.
A source tells the New York Post, “Scarlett isn’t the same… She’s turned into the biggest prima donna… everyone said she was a sweetheart… now they say, ‘Scarlett’s let it get to her head’.”
Just last week, the star defended allegations of her behavior, insisting she lives a ‘very modest and private lifestyle’.
A spokesperson for the actress adds, “Scarlett loves the movie and enjoyed working with everyone on it.”

Scarlett Johansson has denied she is prone to “diva-like” behavior – and insists she lives a “modest and private lifestyle.”
The 23-year-old actress has hit out at reports suggesting she is difficult to work with, claiming doesn’t let her success go to her head.
She says, “I’m not (a diva). I live a very modest and private lifestyle. I’d never invite any of that kind of thing. Things get crazy with the media, but am I demanding or travel with a huge entourage? No! I’m not a terrible person to work with.”

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was forced to halt filming on Match Point while kissing co-star Scarlett Johansson – so that he could have a shave.
Actor Meyers, who played Johansson’s lover in the 2005 Woody Allen-directed drama, held up production while filming an intimate scene so that he could de-fuzz.
Johansson says, “Kissing him wasn’t that bad, but he did have to stop and shave in the middle of a scene, even though he’d shaved that morning. The man has really got some serious beard on him.”

Scarlett Johansson has reportedly postponed her wedding – because it clashes with the U.S presidential elections.
The actress – who has publicly backed Barack Obama – is due to marry Ryan Reynolds this year.
But Johansson has put the nuptials on hold – because her twin brother, Hunter, is busy working on Obama’s campaign.
A source tells British newspaper the Daily Express, “He is working all the time so Scarlett wants to hold off until the election is over.”
The election is due to take place in November.

Between travel engagements to promote her new film Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Scarlett Johansson is working on her own engagement — and wedding — to fiancé Ryan Reynolds.
Friends say the 23-year-old beauty, who was spotted back in February trying on Monique Lhuillier dresses in L.A. and paging through In Style Wedding and Brides Magazines on Aug.5 in Beverly Hills, will most likely want something simple.
“Scarlett’s not big on some over-the-top wedding with white doves and 300 guests,” a pal of the actress tells OK!. In fact, the friend says the actress and 31-year-old Reynolds are thinking of having a small civil ceremony with just the two of them and Scarlett’s twin brother Hunter as the witness.
Ever the fashionista however, one thing Scarlett won’t skimp on is a dress! The Senior editors at Brides Magazine recommend the Amsale one-shoulder wedding gown. “It’s modern and its understated line is perfect for her curves,” they tell OK!.
Although the actress told OK! she has no wedding date set, she joked “I’m very excited. Hopefully I’ll be able to get through [Canadian] immigration much faster now!”
As for how Ryan’s holding up, pals say, “He’s just so excited she said ‘Yes’ that he doesn’t care when or where they wed, as long as she says ‘I do.’”

Scarlett Johansson has criticized Hollywood’s treatment of older actresses – insisting many women see their careers “wilt” once they get past a certain age.
The 23-year-old star is furious that a majority of the film industry is dependent on looks, and blasts movie bosses for ignoring the talents of mature actresses.
And Johansson insists that the rule doesn’t apply to men – as male actors don’t lose popularity with casting directors as they get older.
She says, “Women kind of wilt as men achieve as they get older, like wine. It’s like, ‘Oh she’s past her prime and can’t play a sex symbol’. It’s just a preconceived notion about women in general and particularly in this industry. It’s a very, very vain industry.”
And the Lost In Translation star is adamant that she is not as attractive in real life – because she is caked in make-up for all of her film roles.
She adds, “My hair and make-up artists spend hours upon hours plastering things on me to make me look sexier. I think it’s rare that you feel beautiful.”

Scarlett Johansson denies she has become director Woody Allen’s latest muse.
Allen admits the Lost In Translation star is the inspiration for his films, following in the footsteps of actresses and his former lovers Diane Keaton and Mia Farrow.
The actress has appeared in three Allen movies in as many years; 2005’s Match Point, Scoop in 2006 and the forthcoming Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
But Johansson rejects claims she has become a muse for the moviemaker, insisting they only work together to “have fun”.
She says, “I’m not his muse. Every single junket that we’ve done so far (for Vicky Cristina Barcelona), we always get the muse thing and we always say no, it’s not that way.”
“Woody and I both appreciate how wonderful it is to work with your friends, and it’s fun and we always have a great time when we do it, we entertain each other, we understand each other and we poke each other.”
