After going through a particularly awkward stretch of single life, Sarah Silverman discovered a man who isn’t her type at all – and it seems to be working out great.

Her new boyfriend, the writer Alec Sulkin, is “the first guy in a decade who’s given me any kind of compliment, like saying I’m pretty or anything,” the comedian, 39, tells the new issue of Page Six Magazine, due out Thursday.

“He’s really skinny. Usually I like pudgy, macho-ish guys,” says Silverman, who dated talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel for much of the last decade. “But I think I mistook macho-ish for strong, emotionally. And I think it’s really the opposite.”

The star of The Sarah Silverman Program on Comedy Central split up with Kimmel for good last March, and found herself dating for the first time since becoming famous – which proved tricky.

“It felt a little isolating,” she says. “Part of the fun of meeting someone is having them discover you. You’re doing your little tap dance, like, ‘This is me!’ And then [the person has] all these preconceived notions, things that are partially true and partially not.”

Silverman also weighs in on the David Letterman and Tiger Woods scandals, saying neither surprised her. “I can’t imagine he’s the nicest man in the world, but I love ‘talk show host’ David Letterman,” she says. “I’m not looking to have him be a United Nations representative. The same thing with Tiger Woods.”

And when it comes to the Jay Leno/Conan O’Brien controversy, it’s a no-brainer. “Conan was my first big break,” Silverman says. “He put me on all the time. I played on the Conan soccer team. I have a place in my heart so special for him.”

Late night host Jimmy Kimmel and comic Sarah Silverman have called it quits again, a source tells Usmagazine.com.

The couple, who have been dating on-and-off for the last few months, started dating six years ago.

“Sarah initiated the split this time,” the source tells Us. “He’s bummed.”

This breakup happened within the last two weeks.

“He’s really blue — very down,” another source tells Us. “Seems like it’s over for good this time. He’s sad because he just bought a new place and now has nobody to share it with.”

The couple, who first split in July, reunited last fall.

“We’re just being right now,” Silverman told Us in November.

The pair met during a roast for Hugh Hefner, where Silverman told the audience he was fat and joked he had no charisma — but that didn’t stop them from working together.

“He hired me to do voices on [Comedy Central's] Crank Yankers and around the second season of that we started hanging out,” Silverman has said. “A while after that he kissed me.”

Kimmel separated from his wife Gina in 2002 after 14 years of marriage. Silverman has said she wouldn’t consider getting married until gay marriage is legalized.

Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman are back together.

“They’re taking it slow,” says a source. “They’re on the road back to being together again.”

The comedians, who ended their five-year relationship in July, have recently been spotted on dates on both coasts.

On Sept. 28, Kimmel, 40, and Silverman, 37, enjoyed a laughter-filled dinner together at L.A.’s Pattaya Thai Restaurant, says a source, and left holding hands.

Less than a week later, they attended pal Howard Stern’s Oct. 3 wedding at New York City’s Le Cirque restaurant, where Kimmel was spotted wrapping his arms around Silverman’s waist and playfully grabbing her backside in plain view of photographers. (Pictured above)

Reps for the comedians had no comment.

Silverman thanked her ex from the stage after winning an Emmy last month for her salty music video “I’m F—— Matt Damon,” which first appeared on Kimmel’s late-night talk show before becoming an internet sensation.

“Thanks to the person for whom this whole video was made: Jimmy Kimmel, who broke my heart – ohh, who’ll always have a place in my heart,” she said.

The new season of her show The Sarah Silverman Program premieres on Comedy Central this week.
