Before Carrie Bradshaw could become a fabulous Manhattan columnist, she had to get through high school!

Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell is writing a pair of novels titled, The Carrie Diaries.

The books reveal Carrie’s high school years “giving an inside look at Carrie’s friendships, romances and how she realized her dream of becoming a writer,” HarperCollins announced.

Bushnell said of the novels, “Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd — she led it. It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene,” Associated Press reports.

The first book is set to release in 2010.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour are to host a fundraising fashion show for presidential contender Barack Obama during Fashion Week in New York City.

The catwalk show on September 9th at the Charles Nolan Studio will feature designs from fashion favourites Beyonce Knowles’ House of Dereon, Diane Von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen.

It’s the latest fashionable fundraiser Wintour has hosted for Obama – she teamed up with Calvin Klein in June to aid the Democrat’s campaign.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are abandoning their New York home in a bid to escape the paparazzi, according to reports.

The couple is sick of being spied on in their west village pad, complaining snappers have even moved into neighboring apartments so they can watch them around the clock.

Parker recently claimed, “Photographers moved into apartments next door to us and we really found ourselves kind of living like a spy movie… I feel like they think they have to be there. Like they punch in or something.”

According to New York magazine, the pair has been looking at a $17.8 million home in the hip and more private east village – a property comprising of two houses that have been joined together, which boasts a huge back yard and 18 fireplaces.

If they make the move, the couple would join model Agyness Deyn, actors Colin Farrell and Alan Cumming, who also have homes in the neighborhood.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s husband has been sneaking off for hot trysts with a stunning redhead half his age, sources tell Star in a blockbuster exclusive.

Star reports that while the beloved actress was frantically searching for hubby Matthew Broderick one night earlier this year, he was having sex in the city with a gorgeous redhead half his age, the young woman told a friend.

After meeting in a bar, Matthew began text messaging the 25-year-old youth counselor, says the woman’s pal. Soon after, the insider claims, they began seeing each other and things got passionate quickly when they met at the Manhattan townhouse of a showbiz friend.

Sources say the woman felt conflicted with her relationship with Matthew, whom she nicknamed “Matty Cakes.” She tried to end it, say insiders, but that didn’t happen and over the next month — when Sarah Jessica was filming Sex and the City: The Movie in Los Angeles — multiple eyewitnesses say they saw Matthew make late-night visits to the other woman’s apartment building.

During one tryst, they arrived at her friend’s apartment after a night of heavy drinking, says a source. She dragged Matthew into the friend’s bedroom, then shut the door. “A half hour later, Matthew opened the bedroom door, mumbled ‘Well… ‘bye!’ and walked out. The friend found her passed out on the bed in her panties.”

Sarah Jessica Parker has been hailed this year’s unexpected crush by a men’s magazine bidding to make up with the actress after calling her the unsexiest woman alive.

The 43-year-old Sex and the City star was outraged last year when men’s publication Maxim bestowed her with the unsexy honor, insisting the insult was “brutal.”

And Parker’s outspoken opposition to the title seems to have worked.

The actress will receive her award in the August issue of the magazine.
