Lindsay Lohan and her close friend Samantha Ronson have vowed never to talk about their relationship – insisting it is a “private matter”.
The pair has often been photographed holding hands and cuddling – leading to speculation that they are more than just friends.

DJ Ronson insists that the way their relationship has been documented in the media is often incorrect, but she refuses to clear up rumors they are a couple.

She tells Harper’s Bazaar, “I stay away from the tabloids. I’m not going to talk about Lindsay because she’s my friend, you know? She’s great. She’s also 22 years old. I think people forget that. With the Internet the way it is, one second we’re enemies, one second we’re best friends, one second we’re lovers, and then we’re broken up.”

And Lohan has also broken her silence about her relationship with the 31-year-old – but only to insist that she will never divulge any of their secrets.

Referring to her friend’s family, she says in an email to the publication, “I love the Ronsons. They’re close to my heart and I respect all the work they do. Samantha and my relationship is a private matter.”

Super siblings Mark, Samantha and Charlotte Ronson are opening up about talent, the tabloids and Ms. Lindsay Lohan.

In a new interview with Harpers Bazaar, the London-born rock aristocrats reveal what it’s like to be in a famous family, and how they deal with intense media scrutiny.

“I stay away from the tabloids,” Samantha, 31, tells the magazine. “I don’t feel that I should personally have to defend myself to a magazine that I’m not a drug addict. I don’t do drugs. I don’t sell pictures of my friends.”

Sam’s older brother is used to the crush. Mark Ronson, 32, is a highly acclaimed music producer who won three Grammy Awards this past winter, in part for his production of Amy Winehouse’s album Back to Black. The two later parted ways; a falling out that Ronson hints may have had something to do with Winehouse’s drug use.

“At the time, it was hard to get some work done,” he says diplomatically. “But she’s been in the clinic. I’ve been to visit a few times, and she just looks amazing.”

Samantha, who is recognized as a celebrity DJ, is sought after by nightclubs from L.A. to Mumbai. But it’s her friendship with Lohan that has catapulted her into the spotlight.

“I’m not going to talk about Lindsay because she’s my friend, you know?” she says. “She’s great. She’s also 22 years old. I think people forget that. With the Internet the way it is, one second we’re enemies, one second we’re best friends, one second we’re lovers, and then we’re broken up.”

Samantha says it’s hard fending off the questions about her personal life. Recently she changed her Facebook profile status to “in a relationship” setting off rumors that she and Lohan were dating.

“Even the airport-security guy in Canada asked me, ‘So is it true?’” she laughs. “It’s like, ‘Oh, yeah, I’m telling you!’”

Twin sister Charlotte adds, “The funniest thing was, I bought a bunch of those tabloid magazines and didn’t even notice that Samantha was on the cover of one.”

In an email to Harpers, Lindsay wrote, “I love the Ronsons. They’re close to me and I respect all the work they do. Samantha and my relationship is a private matter.”

Charlotte, who designs clothing and counts Kate Moss and Gwen Stefani as clients, says she’d rather see the paparazzi used for a more practical purpose.

“When Samantha is walking around and all of the paparazzi are shooting her, I should have her wear a T-shirt that says, “Wear Charlotte Ronson” on the front. And on the back, it could say, And Leave Me Alone,” she jokes.

By the time most people turn 31, they’ve managed to get their lives into some semblance of order — doing their laundry, paying their bills, and, oh yeah, registering their automobiles. But it turns out that for Lindsay Lohan’s “best friend,” Samantha Ronson, who turns 31 on Aug. 7, that last one has proved to be too difficult.

See, while Sam and Lindsay are busy partying this week with the Ronson family in Miami for the DJ’s birthday, back in L.A. the blonde Brit’s car has been slapped with a boot by the police — and it’s not for unpaid parking tickets.

OK! has learned that the reason behind the fancy orange footear on Sam’s Cadillac DTS is she has apparently not registered the car since the last registration expired in Nov. 2007. Additionally, it looks like Sam has used a piece of paper to deliberately covered up the VIN number on the dashboard — a big no-no to traffic cops everywhere.

In addition to the boot that now graces the front left tire of the Cadillac, there’s additional decoration on the car in the form of a giant orange sticker on the windshield that reads: “WARNING DO NOT MOVE THIS VEHICLE. This vehicle has been immobilized by the Los Angeles City Department of Transportation for Accumulation of Five or More Delinquent Parking Tickets…This vehicle will be removed and impounded from the street within 72 hours after installation of the devise.”

So if Sam doesn’t want to make the trek out to the impound lot, she had better hurry back from her Miami merry-making.

To get the boot removed from her car, which has been described as “dented on all four corners, with lots of body damage and scratched paint,” Sam must pay any outstanding parking tickets and show proof of new registration. Between fees and penalties, experts tell OK! she’s probably going to have to pay in the ballpark of $6,000 to make her car road-worthy again.

Lindsay Lohan is set to prove she and Samantha Ronson are more than friends – she is reportedly planning to marry the DJ later this year.

The pair has long refused to confirm rumors they are in a lesbian relationship, but are now reportedly planning to exchange vows in a Los Angeles commitment ceremony.

And Lohan’s mother Dina is said to be planning a lavish reception party to “welcome Sam into the family”.

A source tells British newspaper The News Of The World: “Dina is still working on the date of the party but it’s looking like towards the end of the year.

“Lindsay’s new album Spirit In The Dark is out in November, so (the wedding could be held) around then. They’ve been keeping the relationship quiet for months and trying to pass each other off as ‘just good friends’. But they’ve decided it isn’t a fling – it’s for life – so they want to make their romance public.”
