Salma Hayek’s pregnancy has been categorized as a high-risk pregnancy after having been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, which doctors believe to be a result of her excessive weight gain combined with her being 40 years of age.
I hope everything turns out ok for both she and the baby! I knew she gained a lot of weight but I didn’t know she gained enough to put her in danger!

And I totally agree!! Unless you’re my sister (who just got married in January) and in THAT case I’m totally pressuring you to give me a niece or nephew. Chop chop!
“I think it’s terrible women are put in that position. Motherhood is not for everyone — it is for me, but there’s no reason women should feel rushed to have a child,” she told the upcoming issue of Marie Claire. “I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but society thinks if you don’t have children, you’ve failed as a woman, even if you are CEO of a company. You’ve got to be beautiful, smart, skinny, tall, rich, successful at your job, married to the right guy — and have genius children.”

Salma Hayek is stunned to find herself a sex symbol in the US, because growing up in Mexico she was considered “deformed”. The 40-year-old Frida star was deeply unhappy about her looks, because she was regarded the opposite of true beauty.
Pregnant Hayek reveals, “I have had my struggles. I am five foot, two inches and in Mexico it was important to be tall. I grew up in a world where beauty was not only tall, it was white and blonde with blue eyes. And I’m dark, have brown eyes and brown hair and I’m short.
People used to say that the short thing was a deformity. I was really upset about my height.”
