Green Lantern star Ryan Reynolds has been named the new face of Hugo Boss fragrance, the brand announced Friday.
Says the actor, 33, “BOSS is a brand that not only represents classic style and sophistication, but inspires men to work hard, embrace opportunities and strive for success in all aspect of their lives. I’m honored BOSS invited me to be the face of its new men’s fragrance.”
“We’re delighted to be working with Ryan as the face of the new BOSS fragrance as he perfectly captures the ethos of the brand,” says Hugo Boss’ global marketing director Thomas Burkhardt. “He is stylish, dynamic and confident with a tenacity and determination that make him an ideal role model of modern success.”
Reynolds quietly wed Scarlett Johansson in Vancouver in September 2008.
He co-starred with Sandra Bullock in romantic comedy The Proposal last year.
Ryan Reynolds (pictured above leaving Madeo last night) takes a turn from romantic comedy roles, to one that looks freaky as hell! Check out the trailer for Buried below.
Paul is a U.S. contractor working in Iraq. After an attack by a group of Iraqis he wakes to find he buried alive inside a coffin. With only a lighter and a cell phone it’s a race against time to escape this claustrophobic death trap.
Scarlett Johansson is hoping to ring in 2010 on the couch at home – because she’s “so over” partying on New Year’s Eve.
The Lost in Translation actress refuses to spend the last night of the year at a loud party, and plans to celebrate by sharing a pizza and a kiss at midnight with her actor husband Ryan Reynolds.
She tells OK! magazine, “We’re both working on New Year’s Day anyway. So, we won’t do much. You know, pizza would be nice, a little champagne. Maybe watch the Twilight Zone marathon. That’s always a favourite for me.”
“Going from one party to the next and surfing to find the right thing, and being in a taxicab when the clock strikes – I’m so over that stuff. At the ripe old age of 25. I have the most fun when I’m surrounded by people I love in one place that’s comfortable and we can hear each other. You can play card games, watch movies – I’m happy.”
After offering up some thoughts about Green Lantern’s costume, Ryan Reynolds told MTV News that the scenes in which Hal Jordan isn’t in costume will likely be the most memorable from the film — much like Robert Downey Jr.’s time spent out of Tony Stark’s armor in “Iron Man.”
“I think you walk away from this first film, and the moments that you remember and the moments that mean so much to you, not unlike ‘Iron Man,’ are the moments where the guy’s not in the suit,” said Reynolds.
However, Reynolds acknowledged that developing those moments amid the cosmic action central to “Green Lantern” is a daunting task — after all, a test pilot who receives a super-powered ring from a dying alien is likely to demand a much different tone than a billionaire industrialist building his own battle armor.
“That to me is the tough thing to get right,” he explained. “And that’s something that they did get right [in 'Iron Man']. You see why this guy’s in the suit, and that’s what’s interesting to me. Not that he is in the suit, but why.”
With “Green Lantern” scheduled to begin shooting next year (possibly in New Orleans), Reynolds shied away from calling the film’s plot an origin story, despite the need to introduce Hal Jordan to mainstream movie audiences.
“It is [an origin story] to a certain degree, but it’s not a labored origin story, where the movie [truly] begins in the third act,” he explained. “The movie starts when it starts. We find out Hal is the guy fairly early on, and the adventure begins.”
I am so excited!!! Ryan and Anna were comic genius in Just Friends (above), which remains my favorite comedy of all time!!
Universal Pictures has acquired “TMI,” a comic vehicle for Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris.
Scripted by Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Marc Klein, the comic premise is that while honesty is the best policy for a relationship, “too much information” might not be the best thing.
Reynolds, who is coming off “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and “The Proposal,” next stars as the title character in the Martin Campbell-directed “Green Lantern.”
“TMI” is a possible candidate to follow that superhero effort.
Ryan Reynolds was spotted yesterday afternoon at his gym Fitness Factory in West Hollywood yesterday. Ryan is getting his body in superhero shape, as he’s getting ready to film the “Green Lantern”. I could watch his movies all day.
