Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst star in the 1980s murder mystery All Good Things.

Variety claims the Half Nelson star and Spider-Man actress will began shooting the movie in April with Capturing the Friedmans helmer Andrew Jarecki making his directorial feature debut.

Gosling plays a member of a New York real estate dynasty who falls in love with a girl from the wrong side of the tracks (to be played by Dunst).

But after her disappearance, their romance is swiftly transformed into a gripping tale of intrigue, with a down-a-out detective uncovering clues that link political power-players to the case and result in numerous deaths.

Ryan Gosling has joined celebrities waging war against the bosses of fast food chain KFC over the conditions in their poultry slaughterhouses.

The Oscar-nominated actor has fired off a letter on behalf of People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to John Bitove, who oversees KFC Canada, urging him to stop the ongoing abuse of fowl supplied to his restaurants.

Gosling calls on Bitove to implement meaningful animal welfare reforms, stating, “The time is ripe to do the right thing.

He adds, “By adopting the basic recommendations made by PETA and scientific experts (including raising birds in a more natural manner and employing less cruel slaughter methods), you could dramatically improve the lives and deaths of chickens raised and killed for KFC Canada.”

Celebrities who have fired off letters about the KFC abuses in the past include pop star Pink and Pamela Anderson.

Recently rehabbed party girl Kirsten Dunst was spotted in New York over the weekend canoodling with her All Good Things co-star Ryan Gosling. She and Gosling were seen at Lower East Side eatery Freeman’s on Saturday afternoon and, reports a source to Page Six, “They were definitely acting like they were on a date. They lingered there for hours and were both dressed kind of shabby.” Kiki checked herself into Lindsay Lohan’s fave rehab spot, Cirque Lodge, back in February.

Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams share the honor of being recent Oscar nominees. But are they sharing a bit more these days?

The actors, both 27, were spotted walking along Bleecker Street in New York’s Greenwich Village on Tuesday night, stopping for some photos with fans near Sullivan Street.

Gosling, a nominee for Half Nelson, was back in New York after running into Heroes actress Hayden Panettiere – and exchanging numbers – at a restaurant in L.A. over the weekend, according to the New York Daily News. Gosling recently split with actress Rachel McAdams.

Williams, an Oscar nominee for Brokeback Mountain, is also recently single, she split with Heath Ledger, with whom she has a 2-year-old daughter, Matilda.

The actors’ reps did not return calls for comment.

Peter and I tried to make it work and ultimately it just didn’t. I think the film is much better off with Mark Walhberg in that role. Peter Jackson is an incredible filmmaker and I’m here to tell you that he has things up his sleeve that are going to blow peoples’ minds. I’m going to be the first person in line to buy tickets.”

As for the report that he was difficult to work with, Gosling says, “The media always slant things in a negative direction. If somebody said I was easy to work with, they’d make that sound bad, too.”

It’s a sight you never thought you’d see – a stark naked Philip Seymour Hoffman in the very first frame of Sidney Lumet’s latest, “Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead.”

The Oscar-winning actor and an equally nude Marisa Tomei kick off the harrowing thriller with a steamy sex scene that had everyone talking Wednesday night at the Cinema Society screening of Lumet’s 45th film.

Hoffman, Tomei and co-star Ethan Hawke were on hand for the Sagatiba Rum-sponsored showing and the star-studded after-party on the roof lounge of the Gramercy Park Hotel.

Among those enthralled by the tale of a robbery gone horribly awry were Lauren Bacall, Sheryl Crow, Patricia Clarkson, Tommy Hilfiger, Rachel Roy, Cynthia Rowley, Sante D’Orazio, newly pregnant Julianna Margulies and supermodel Hana Soukupova (whose apartment was used for one of the grittier scenes).

Meanwhile, guests downstairs at the Rose Bar were getting a scene of their own. Ryan Gosling proved he’s over his ex, Rachel McAdams, by cozying up to a “hot brunette who kept showing him her phone.”
