Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes, who very rarely step out together, went for a walk yesterday in New York proudly showing off their relationship!

The couple strolled hand-in-hand in NYC after enjoying lunch at Panya Bakery in the East Village.

The pair have been dating for 8 months now.

38-year-old Mendes slightly opened up about her relationship with USA Today Magazine.

“I’m feeling a little insecure because I can’t help but be super conscious of what I’m saying because I’m so protective,” Eva said, when asked about Ryan. “That’s the most precious thing to me. And I’m so protective and I just felt my guard go up.”

Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are teaming up again (they heated up the screens in last years ‘Crazy Stupid Love’) in ‘Gangster Squad’. It’s being called a cross between ‘Untouchables’ and ‘L.A. Confidential’.

Gosling plays an LAPD officer who tries to take down Sean Penn’s Mickey Cohen.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer (“Zombieland”), “Gangster Squad” — which is based onPaul Lieberman’s seven-part Los Angeles Times series “Tales From The Gangster Squad” – was initially locked into an October release date, but was moved to “TBD” in favor of Ben Affleck’s “Argo.” Still, discounting this one as anything other than an early Oscar player seems foolish. In addition to Penn (seemingly using Leonardo DiCaprio’s leftover makeup from “J. Edgar”), Gosling and Stone, the cast includes Josh Brolin, Anthony Mackie, Giovanni Ribisi, Robert Patrick and Nick Nolte. That’s a great roster and all, but let’s focus back on Gosling and Stone.

“You want to take me away from all this,” she purrs. “No ma’am, I was just hoping to take you to bed,” he retorts. Swoon! Get these two a remake of “Bringing Up Baby,” stat.

Ryan Gosling makes walking look hot, doesn’t he?

The 31-year-old ‘Drive’ actor was spotted taking a walk in New York City yesterday after having lunch with a female friend.

In other Ryan news, his latest movie ‘The Gangster Squad’ has been bumped back from it’s original October 12th release date. (See pictures of Ryan on set here. PLUS: Pics of Ryan and Emma Stone kissing on set here!)

Warner Bros. decided to release Ben Affleck’s movie ‘Argo’ on that date, pushing ‘The Gangster Squad’ to a later date to avoid competition.

‘The Gangster Squad’ is a movie about the LAPD’s fight to keep the East Coast Mafia out of Los Angeles in the 1940s and 50s. The film costars Sean Penn, Josh Brolin and Emma Stone.

Ryan Gosling is just something of a regular super-hero!

Wednesday afternoon, Ryan jumped into action – and saved yet another pedestrian from getting hurt!

A British journalist named Laurie Penny Tweeted that she had been saved by the handsome actor! ”I literally, LITERALLY just got saved from a car by Ryan Gosling. Literally. That actually just happened,” she said.

Apparently Ryan stopped her from walking into oncoming traffic.

After the incident, Penny wrote an article for Gawker.com, in a piece titled “Ryan Gosling Saved Me From a Speeding Car But There’s War In the Middle East So Everyone Calm Down.”

“I didn’t remember to look the right way. An actor happened to be passing and stopped me from getting run over by a car. I said ‘thank you.’ And that was that. The actor happened to be Ryan Gosling.”

This isn’t Ryan’s first round of superheroness. Back in August, he broke up a fight between two men on the street in NYC, after getting into a fight when one man tried to steal a painting. That incident was caught on video!

“Ryan put a stop to it, then he asked, ‘How much is the painting?’” a witness described to Us Weekly. “Ryan gave him a $20 and said, ‘Does this cover what the man owes you?’ The painter thanked him and said yes. Ryan said ‘good,’ and continued on his way.”

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling have been dating for about six months now, after falling in love on the set of their film “The Place Beyond the Pines”. In the new issue of Marie Claire, Eva opens up about dating Ryan, and calls her boyfriend “a dream”.

The 37-year-old actress told the magazine, “He’s your dream costar. I have never felt so creatively satisfied on a film.”

She also opened up about her body image. “It doesn’t matter what you have or what you look like. It’s something everyone has to work at. I realize I have contributed to a certain happy, healthy, empowered image, but that’s not all of me,” she says.

“I feel it’s important to let women know that I have similar struggles. What I tell girls is what they don’t like about themselves now, they will probably end up loving as an adult, because that’s what happened to me. When I am complimented on things that I didn’t like when I was 13, like my overbite and my mole, that’s when you realize that your imperfections are why people love you.”

As well as gushing about her boyfriend, Mendes also coos about her two biggest Hollywood idols, Julianne Moore and Annette Bening.
“I have a girl crush on them. I’d kill to have half the careers they’ve had after 40,” she says.

Wonder what role he’s beefing up for now?

Everyone’s proclaiming 2011 as The Year Of Ryan Gosling, and I couldn’t agree more. Dude was in every movie, covered every magazine, and when he lost to Bradley Cooper as People’s Sexiest Man Alive there was a fanatical outpouring or internet rage. And he’s dating Eva Mendes. What more could a guy want?

Here he is pictured leaving  a gym yesterday. Could he be preparing for a new boxing movie? Let’s hope so.
