Katy Perry and husband Russell Brand walked the black carpet at last night’s MTV Movie Awards looking like a cartoon character. Her dress, by Atelier Versace was just strange. Combine that with her pink hair (which looks completely unhealthy if you ask me), she looked just plain weird. I prefer her much more when she dresses “normally”. I feel like everyone’s trying too hard to make a fashion statement these days, ala Lady Gaga.
When Katy accepted her award for ‘Video of the Year’ (for “Firework”), she walked on stage wearing an ensemble by Dior, with what looked like a giant block of cheese on her head.
Katy also won ‘Best Collaboration’ for “E.T”, her collab with Kanye West.

What do you think of Katy’s red hair? Katy is reportedly trying to go back to her natural hair color, which is blonde. She’s been tweeting about the transformation, which takes some time after she’s been dying her hair black for years.
After going red, she tweeted: “So I didn’t get to the exact color (sic) I wanted from being black for so long! 2get to goal I have 2b GINGER for 3WKS.”
She added: “If I don’t wait 3wks, I’ll end up w/no hair or a #pixie90scutw/abarretteinthefront It’s okay, I’ll get to my secret color(s) soon! #patience.”
Can’t wait to see what the end result looks like, although I do like her with darker hair. We’ll see!

Director Adam Shankman tweeted this photo of Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand from the set of ‘Rock of Ages’. The ’30 Rock’ actor is decked out with long hair, shades and a jean vest.
Balwin and Brand are just a few of the big names starring in the big screen adaption. The cast also includes Tom Cruise, Mary J. Blige, Julianne Hough and Catherine Zeta-Jones. (Last week I posted pictures of Julianne in a bikini filming beach scenes.)
The 53-year-old star will play the part of Dennis Dupree, an ex-rocker who runs the Rock of Ages nightclub in order to hold onto his rock star past. Set in 1987 on the LA Sunset Strip, ‘Rock of Ages’ is the story of a small town girl who meets a big city rocker in an LA rock club, as they fall in love to a soundtrack of the greatest songs of the ’80s.

Katy Perry stood by her husband’s side as his movie ‘Arthur’ premiered today in London.
The 26-year-old singer wore a long nude dress with crystals (so unflattering!), while Russell Brand opted for a Dolce & Gabbana suit.
Before the premiere Russell Tweeted: “Arriving at ARTHUR, I’m gonna sneak some tweeters in. Don’t act (fishy) suspicious.”
Hopefully the movie does better overseas! The movie has tanked in the US.

Russell Brand’s new movie, ‘Arthur’ took in a measly $12.7 million over the weekend. The comedy came in at number 2, after ‘Hop’, which earned $21.7 million during it’s second week run! Ouch.
The movie, which sadly costars Jennifer Garner (what were you thinking?) and Helen Mirren, received a sad 25% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Time Magazine chimes in:
Can we stop thinking about Russell Brand now? Britain’s bad-boy comic, who scored a vocal hit last week as the teen bunny in Hop, looked to parlay his animated success by starring in a remake of the 1981 Dudley Moore comedy Arthur. But audiences decided they’d rather hear Brand than see him. The holdover Hop, which dropped 42% from last weekend’s winning tally, won the battle of the Brands. Its $21.7 million earned it the top spot in North American theaters, according to early studio estimates, while Arthur grossed just $12.6 million, well below expectations, in its opening frame. Total theatrical revenue was down about 6% from the same weekend last year, with box-office earnings still running a parlous 30% below 2010’s.
Hop and Arthur were supposed to be the one-two punch that would transform Brand — known to American audiences for a supporting role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, a co-star turn in Get Him to the Greek and his husbanding of Katy Perry — into the next bankable comedy phenom. Here was the ideal match of new star and old property, with the ex-druggie Brand as the dipsomaniacal playboy whom Moore had made both famous and endearing. Instead of pruney John Gielgud as Arthur’s veddy proper valet, Brand had Oscar- and Emmy-winner Helen Mirren; it was the two stars’ first picture together since their (SARCASM ALERT) plangently poetic teaming last year in Julie Taymor’s take on Shakespeare’s The Tempest (total worldwide gross: $302,110). Arthur made no happier impression than did Mirren’s hosting gig on last night’s lackluster and lack-laugh episode of Saturday Night Live. Even British dames — and dudes — can get slapped with the wet sock of failure.
