Rumer Willis has hit back at critics who have mocked her prominent chin, insisting the imperfection makes her a role model for insecure young women.
The 19-year-old daughter of actors Bruce Willis and Demi Moore has been mocked by internet gossips because of her facial features.
But she has learned to deal with the jibes, and hopes her positive self-esteem will inspire others to accept their own flaws.
She says, “Everybody has an opinion, and we live in America so you’re allowed to. Hopefully, young girls will watch (me) and feel confident about themselves and go, ‘OK, that girl’s not entirely the ideal of what a perfect picture is supposed to be and she feels confident and beautiful, then I can too.’ If we can have the ability to do that, I’m very excited about that. As long as you are comfortable with who you really are and your friends, and the people that are around you know that, that’s all that really matters.”

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s daughter Rumer is determined to become a Hollywood star in her own right – and show critics she is more than just a “celebrity child”.
The 19-year-old is a regular on the Hollywood party circuit, but she insists she isn’t just feeding off her parents’ fame – and that everyone she meets discovers her extra depth.
She says, “I think when people meet me they’re shocked. Because the idea of celebrity children is that they’re trust-fund babies that don’t have any desire to work and they’re just going to ride their parents’ train. And in some cases that stereotype has proved right. I would hope that after people meet me, they would give me the benefit of the doubt. They’re kind of like, ‘Wow, you’re really much more chill and down-to-earth than I thought you would be.’”
And Willis Jr rejects claims she has had acting roles handed to her because of her famous family, insisting she has had to fight extra battles to become acknowledged as an actress in her own right.
Rumer – who appears in new movie From Within and forthcoming film Wild Cherry – says, “The interesting thing about Hollywood is that everyone has different ways of getting their foot in the door. Some of the opportunities that I’ve had because of how I’ve grown up I wouldn’t have had otherwise. And also some of the things that I have to work harder for that somebody else might not.”

Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ eldest daughter showed off her singing skills at a Hollywood party last week – but failed to impress the celebrity crowd.
Rumer Willis, who has hinted that she’s planning to record an album, joined the house band at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on Thursday night to belt out a rendition of Missy Elliott’s The Rain.
But onlookers were far from amazed. One partygoer says, “It wasn’t that she was that off-tune or horrible, but she just wasn’t that good and the crowd was not feeling it.”
