This January, 90210 will embark on a major same-sex storyline that will pair the show’s token lesbian, Gia, played by Rumer Willis, with another major (and heretofore straight) female character.
“This isn’t a fling,” insists executive producer Rebecca Sinclair. “We’re coming at this [relationship] from a genuine place and not going, ‘Let’s do a titillating story that will grab some promotion.’ This is a real aspect of teenager life that’s interesting… And there’s been a real void in the 90210 universe in terms of gay and bisexual characters.”
So, who will Demi’s daughter coax out of the closet and into her loving arms? Nope, it’s not Naomi — it’s teenage mom Adrianna!
Demi Moore’s daughter Rumer Willis feels sorry for young actors such as Mischa Barton - because the Hollywood party scene can be a dangerous place.
Barton was allegedly placed under involuntary psychiatric hold at a hospital in Los Angeles in July after reportedly suffering a meltdown.
Willis, 21, admits it’s hard for young stars to cope with the pressure of fame – because the lure of showbiz parties can often lead to ruin.
She tells Glamour magazine, “I do feel very sorry for Mischa Barton. This whole world is very enticing. When you start getting famous it’s exciting. But I’ve grown up having to deal with what’s real and what’s not and I just don’t care about that type of thing. I have better things to do.
“I think it’s important that the only people you have in your life are people who support you and are positive.”
Rumer Willis doesn’t owe her acting career to her famous parents.
The 21-year-old daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore admits the family name gets her auditions, but insists she wins parts because she is a great performer.
The budding actress – who stars in upcoming horror film ‘Sorority Row’ – told BANG Showbiz: “You can’t do anything about who your parents are. I think everyone has opportunities and everyone has doors that are open to them in different ways. If you’re talented you’ll get work. If you suck then you won’t. In the end, talent is all that matters because you could go and get an audition, but if you go in there and you suck you’re not going to get a job.”
Rumer is the eldest of Bruce and Demi’s three daughters. She grew up on film sets but only decided to become an actress “recently”. Rumer denies her parents steered her into the industry, insisting neither one has ever tried to offer her career advice.
She explained: “In terms of my parents, they let me make my own way. They’ve just been entirely supportive and extremely great in that way so I couldn’t ask for anything better.”
Rumer Willis is officially 21 – and she had the Las Vegas-style birthday to prove it.
The Sorority Row actress turned 21 at the stroke of midnight Sunday and celebrated the way most people would only dream of – at Tao Las Vegas while being surrounded by her famous parents and other celebrities.
“Getting to come here is pretty amazing,” she told reporters before heading to dinner at the Sin City restaurant with a group of 55 that included her parents Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, as well as Moore’s husband Ashton Kutcher and pal Audrina Patridge.
In true Vegas fashion, Rumer was presented with an oversized birthday cake delivered by two Vegas showgirls, then later serenaded by an Elvis impersonator singing “Happy Birthday.”
The group partied in a roped off VIP area of Tao’s until 4 a.m.
