Rosie O’Donnell will wait until same-sex marriages are legalised throughout the U.S. before she weds her partner.
O’Donnell and her longtime partner, Kelli Carpenter, married four years ago when the mayor of San Francisco allowed same-sex marriages. But the California Supreme Court later declared the marriage invalid.
Last month, California state authorities lifted the ban on same-sex marriage, but O’Donnell is reluctant to walk up the aisle.
She says, “(We’re) going to wait until it’s legal everywhere, because otherwise, I said to Kelli, we’ll be going around touring the country on the marriage tour every state by state. Once it gets to be at the federal level, once every state recognises the marriages of every other state, I think that’ll be the time we would do it.”

Rosie O’Donnell is hoping to persuade pal Madonna to direct an episode of hit plastic surgery drama Nip/Tuck, after playing a recurring role on the show.
The actress and TV personality has played lottery winner Dawn Budge on a handful of episodes of Nip/Tuck, since making a naked debut in 2006 – and now she wants her pal to get on the set.
Show regular Kelly Carlson says, “Madonna’s been approached because Rosie is on our show and they’re very good friends. I’ve begged the producers to get her on the show. She has such a great mind for stuff like this that I think she’d be a great director for an episode. I would also love to have Madonna on as a character.”
Do you watch Nip/Tuck? I do, and I think Madonna would make a great addition to the show.

Rosie O’Donnell has Miley Cyrus’ back. She’s taken to her blog to defend the Disney star after her controversial Vanity Fair photographs set off a surge of criticism.
“Leave Miley Cyrus alone,” O’Donnell says in a video posted Monday night. “Disney [is] making her apologize. Ay yi yi.”
While some have described the portraits as too risqué – and People.com readers deemed them “inappropriate” for a 15-year-old – O’Donnell finds them beautiful, she says, explaining that working with celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz can be an intimidating experience.
“Listen, Annie Leibovitz – I had two photo shoots with her,” O’Donnell says. “You kind of do what she says. It’s intimidating. I also didn’t think it was a pornographic photo in any capacity. I thought it was sort of a beautiful portrait.
And she continued: “I like the one of her and her dad, too. I don’t know. It’s Annie Leibovitz, people.”
O’Donnell has also polled her readers, asking in her “Question of the Day” feature: Do U Care About This Photo? (A majority of her readers have responded ‘no.’)
For her part, Cyrus apologized for the photographs – and Leibovitz too has said she’s sorry for any misinterpretation.

Rosie O’Donnell has banned her children from watching TV and using computers, and she insists the rule has changed the youngsters’ lives for the better.
O’Donnell, who has three adopted children with her partner Kelli Carpenter, and a fourth child who Carpenter conceived through artificial insemination, claims her kids have thrived since she imposed a “no-media policy”.
And she advises other parents to give her strict no-TV policy a try.
She says, “We have a no-media policy. The school they go to has a no-media policy. There’s no television and no computer access. It has changed our lives.”

Danny Noriega was voted off American Idol Thursday night — but he may already have his first gig, courtesy of Rosie O’Donnell.
The former talk show host took to her blog to rave about Noriega’s performance and offer the 18-year-old one amazing consolation prize: a free cruise to Mexico on O’Donell’s R Family Vacations.
“I don’t know if you have to sit around the American Idol studio and look sad for the next few weeks — because I think that’s part of the contract,” joked O’Donnell. “[But] you got a free cruise. You and a friend.”
But O’Donnell expects the young singer to work for his vacation. “Come on there, and I want you to sing ‘Tainted Love,’” she says. “I think you’re fantastic. And I think you’re a bold and brave and beautiful young man. And I admire you, Danny Noriega. You have an amazing voice. And your hair looks good straight.”
Also on the cruise: O’Donnell’s pal and True Colors Tour partner Cyndi Lauper. The combination, O’Donnell says, would make a perfect duet — or trio! Says the comedienne: “You can sing with her — and me — onstage.”

Comedienne Rosie O’Donnell has denied rumors that she is an alcoholic, insisting that she chose to give up drinking because she is desperate to lose weight. The star recently confessed her dieting secret to a fan on her online blog, prompting others to question the real reason behind her sobriety.
The fan asked: “So, Rosie, alcoholic or not? Just spit it out! …What led to you stopping the beer? You’ll only help someone else.”
While O’Donnell admits she was consuming more booze than she would have liked, she is adamant she is simply doing it to improve her health, according to the New York Post’s gossip column PageSix. She replied: “(I gave up alcohol) ’cause I was drinking too much, ’cause I didn’t want to any more, ’cause it is hard to lose weight when drinking, ’cause I can never have only one.”
Sounds like an alcoholic to me, what do you think?
