Kate Winslet cozied up next to Roman Polanski during a photo call for their new movie, ‘Carnage’ in Paris, France. Since Roman is currently on the run from the law (for raping a child in the 80’s), there won’t be any photo calls in the U.S.. I always find it interesting the celebs that choose to work with him (and Woody Allen for that matter). Doesn’t anyone care about what these guys have done? Woody had an affair with his teenage DAUGHTER – and Roman raped a 13 year old girl!
Anyway, off my high horse. Here are Kate, John C. Reilly and Roman Polanski in Paris to promote their new film, ‘Carnage’.
In the screen adaptation of playwright Yasmina Reza’s acclaimed Broadway play The God of Carnage, Polanski tells the tale of two sets of parents who meet up to talk after their children get into a fight at school.
The film has premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
Electric comic timing and star performances from an A-list cast of Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster, John C. Reilly and Christopher Waltz drive the film, shot in real time as the adults try settle the dispute with unpredictable twists.
Though “Carnage” is set in Brooklyn, it was shot in Paris as the French-Polish director is unable to travel freely around Europe because he is wanted in the United States following a conviction there for unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl in 1977.
And darnit if this movie doesn’t look good!!
PS: Kate looks unbelievable!

Another woman comes out to accuse Roman Palanski of rape. Edith Michelle Vogelhut, a former model also known as Shelli Paul, was 21 at the time of the alleged sexual assault in 1974.
Edith claims Polanski handcuffed her at a party at actor Jack Nicholson’s house. Then her repeatedly sodomized her till he passed out.
Vogelhut’s attorney, Michael Griffith, was unable to file a complaint due to the laws in California.
“I’m not planning on filing a civil lawsuit against Mr. Polanski as I think the statute of limitations has expired,” he said.
“(However) I’m in contact with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office regarding the criminal case.”
Polanski has a list of several women who have accused him of similar violations. Samantha Geimer, was 13 at the time, when he allegedly assaulted her at Jack Nickolson’s house in 1978.
Then there was British actress, Charlotte Lewis. She claims Roman sexually assaulted her when she was 16 at his Paris apartment.

Roman Polanski has gotten away with rape, again.
It was just announced that Switzerland, who has had Roman Polanski on house arrest for the last 9 months, will not extradite the Oscar-winning filmmaker to the US where he was to face sentencing for having sex with a 13 year old girl in 1977.
He’s now a free man!
In 1977 Polanski plead guilty in Los Angeles to having unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl, but fled to Europe before he was able to be sentenced.
He was arrested in Switzerland last year and had been fighting extradition since then.
More from CNN:
The Swiss rejected the American request because the United States did not supply all the legal records Switzerland requested, and because Polanski had a reasonable right to think he would not be arrested if he visited the country, she said.
U.S. prosecutors cannot apply again to Switzerland to have Polanski sent there, she said, but could apply to other countries to detain and extradite him.
The U.S. Justice Department declined to comment on the Swiss rejection.
Polanski was 43 at the time he had unlawful sex with the girl. He is now 76.
Prosecutors dropped rape and other charges in exchange for his guilty plea.
But Polanski fled the country before he was sentenced after learning that the judge might not go along with the short jail term Polanski expected to get in exchange for his plea.
He has been a fugitive since 1978 and lived in France before his arrest.
Swiss authorities released the director from jail on $4.5 million bail in early December “pending extradition” to the United States.

Johnny Depp has come to the defense of Roman Polanski as he faces extradition to the U.S. on child sex charges – insisting the embattled director is “not a predator”.
The Oscar-winning filmmaker pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977, but fled the States before his sentence could be passed.
He was arrested in Zurich last year and placed under house arrest in Switzerland. Last month, a Los Angeles judge ruled he must return to the U.S. to face sentencing.
But Depp, who collaborated with the 76 year old on 1999 thriller The Ninth Gate, insists U.S. prosecutors should take Polanski’s current home life into consideration and let the 32-year-old charges go.
Defending his former boss’ character, Depp explains: “Roman is not a predator. He’s 75 or 76 years old. He has got two beautiful kids, he has got a wife that he has been with for a long, long time. He is not out on the street.”
